4/15/2024 - jerhardt Likes this wine: NRFour years since my last bottle, but this was nonetheless drinking younger and fresher. Crisp, focused and complex. Delicious. |

11/8/2023 - jerhardt wrote: NRProbably the best bottle of this I have had. Crisp and focused, but deep and complex. Delicious, and my only complaint is the bottle variation. |

10/16/2023 - jerhardt wrote: NRUnder diam. six years since my last bottle, and this has settled down and fleshed out nicely. Maybe a bit creamy and round for my preference, but certainly a pleasant evolution from the extreme austerity the last time I had this. Pretty good. |

9/12/2023 - jerhardt wrote: NRDon’t really buy these anymore as I drifted away from my perceived modernness of the producer. With that said, while maybe a bit polished, this wa suite delicious. Light bodied, Elegant and moderately complex, with no signs of over ripeness, extraction, or oak. I wish I had more left than I do. |

2020 Domaine des Marnes Blanches Chardonnay Côtes du Jura En quatre vismore |
9/1/2023 - jerhardt wrote: NRSurprisingly both weightier and more floral than either of the two savagnin bottles had alongside this. Still fresh and driven by citrus acidity, but a bit rounder in the palate. Nice wine. |

2020 Domaine des Marnes Blanches Savagnin Côtes du Jura En Jensillardmore |
9/1/2023 - jerhardt wrote: NRNice, non-oxidative savagnin. Mid weight with enough acidity to keep things fresh. A pleasant drink. |

9/1/2023 - jerhardt wrote: NRA mini study of newer release marnes blanche over several days. More high toned and lighter on its feet with a bit of light bottle spritz. Good, but can use time to settle in. |

8/6/2023 - jerhardt wrote: NRVery light with slight bricking, almost like an aged rose. Complex, light strawberry flavors. An intriguing wine in the Overnoy mold. |

4/22/2023 - jerhardt wrote: NRNot sold on this as an upgrade over the base bottling or a downgrade over the higher end ones. Very light and mineral driven, but with drying tannins and very high acidity. Not a fan at the price point. |

2013 Domaine Jamet Côte-RôtieSyrah more |
4/19/2023 - jerhardt Likes this wine: NRSix years since my last bottle, boy does time fly. Utterly delicious. If this what a ‘weaker’ year is about, count me in. Elegant, complex, and unmistakably classic northern Rhone Syrah. Great now, but no hurry at all. Excited to have plenty to follow over the coming years. Do you find this review helpful? 1/31/2023 - jerhardt wrote: NR‘11 Collier Ripaille alongside ‘11 and ‘14 Guiberteau Arboises. The Collier was my least favorite of the bunch; decent fruit, but marred by a bit too much Brett for my preference. ‘11 Guiberteau was in the middle, though showing a bit underripe with more green pyrazine notes than I enjoy. ‘14 Guiberteau did really well, having put on some weight over the past few years while demonstrating a great balance between cab franc character and a bit of polish. |

2010 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Meix ChavauxChardonnay more |
12/21/2022 - jerhardt wrote: NRThree years since my last bottle; this one was pristine relative to the last one which was showing a bit mature. Typical Roulot profile, with maybe a bit more flinty reduction than usual. Delicious, though certainly a stylistic preference. |

1967 Giuseppe E Figlio Mascarello BaroloNebbiolo more |
11/17/2022 - jerhardt wrote: NR'55/'61/'67 plus '61 Fontanafreda poured single blind. The stylistic consistency of the Mascarellos was amazing, from the pale, nearly translucent color down the the way the sediment was formed in large sheets. All of the wines showed propersly and for the most part were delicious. The '67 was the least impressive and clearly on the backside of maturity. Not madeirized, but it had a crystalline candied sweetness, almost like a tawny port. Interesting, but not up to the standard of the others, which were all impressive in their own way. The '61 drank the biggest and youngest (in a relative sense), but still ephemeral and elegant. The '55 was consistent with prior bottles; elegant, complex, and very alive for a 60+ year old wine. The Fontanafreda split the difference between the two, and was a massive over-performer. Three fantastic wines that were a treat to drink. |
