5/17/2017 - vinhslee Likes this wine: 95 pointsThis wine needs long decanting. I poured half into a decanter, and left the other half in the bottle (to see which way the wine performs better). Below is a summary of how the flavours developed 9 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (5) |

2020 Kumeu River Chardonnay Maté's Vineyardmore |
9/26/2021 - vinhslee Does not like this wine: 90 pointsI've tasted this on several occasions, in different glasses with different periods of aeration. It is just an ordinary New Zealand Chardonnary with plenty of lemon, lemon zest and grapefruit notes, with some oak, minerality and stone fruit notes in the background. 3 people found this helpful, do you? 2010 Zilliken (Forstmeister Geltz) Saarburger Rausch Riesling Auslese GoldkapselMosel Saar Ruwer more |
9/29/2020 - vinhslee Does not like this wine: 85 pointsVery cloying on palate. Explosive flavours of pineapple, mango and stone fruits. Lacks acidity to balance the candied fruit flavours. Aeration does not help the flavours to further develop or harmonise. Best served with plenty of ice cubes. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (3) |

2019 Kumeu River Chardonnay Hunting Hillmore |
10/22/2020 - vinhslee Does not like this wine: 80 pointsVery ordinary, muted and generic chardonnay nose. But plenty of lime, lemon peel and citrus notes on the palate. The fruity notes are quite upfront, but recede rather abruptly to reveal intense acidic and mineral notes. There is nothing intriguing about this wine, and it does not warrant comparison with fine white burgundy. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (3) |

2014 Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso GuardiolaEtna DOC Nerello Blend, Nerello Mascalese more |
2/7/2020 - vinhslee wrote: 92 pointsBright flavours of strawberries, red berries, red cherries with some earthiness and minerality. Reasonably complex, very lively and well balanced when PnP. But flavours start to fall apart after 2 hours of aeration in the wine glasses. 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (2) |

2009 Château PoujeauxMoulis en Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend more |
10/19/2019 - vinhslee wrote: 90 pointsRich flavours of cassis, cedar, dark fruits, earthiness, game when PnP. These flavours only last for 15-30 minutes. Flavour profile is quite secondary, suggesting the wine won't last for long. Appallingly low level of acidity, complete lack of backbone/structure. Flavours are not simple, but not exactly complex. Drink up now. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (2) |

1982 Château Lafite RothschildPauillac Red Bordeaux Blend more |
10/13/2017 - vinhslee wrote: 90 pointsEverything is in check and good balance. The aromas and flavours are mostly graphite, tobacco, leather, blueberry, blackberry and floral driven. It's quite well-polished, but just does not live up to the hype. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (2) |

12/24/2023 - vinhslee wrote: 90 pointsOn the nose, it had the typical Lafite aroma of well judged oak and cassis. On the palate, it had the typical polished Lafite notes but lacked the concentration of the better Lafite. After 30 minutes of air, things started to fall apart. Bottle variation? 1/27/2024 - vinhslee Likes this wine: 92 pointsDouble decanted 8 hours prior to serving. It has good dose of grapefruit, citrus fruits and minerality on the palate. For now, 2010 Arnaud Ente Bourgogne Blanc tastes far better and more ready. |

7/20/2019 - vinhslee Likes this wine: 94 pointsGreat nose of raspberries, red cherries and spices. When PnP, the palate is full of intense raspberries, red cherries, lots of red fruits, rhubarb, minerality and a touch of earthiness. Long and powerful finish. It's very young but shows great potential for ageing. Wonderful village level Gevrey Chambertin |

7/19/2017 - vinhslee wrote: 95 pointsIt tastes quite acidic when it is fresh out of bottle. But after an hour, wonderful flavours of cherry, minerals/wet stones and hint of earthiness keep developing. It lacks the typical banana and cinnamon Beaujolais tastes. The flavours are not intense, but very lively and persistent. Lovely long finish. |

11/12/2022 - vinhslee Likes this wine: 98 pointsFrom magnum. Very harmonised, fragrant and smooth. Fantastic drive and intensity, but nothing in excess. Ready to drink with a bit of air, and keeps getting better even without chilling. Wonderful QPR. It's quite complex, but of course can never beat the likes of Puglingy Montrachet Grand Crus. |
