2020 Domaine Font de Michelle Côtes du Rhône Le vin de LéonardWhite Rhone Blend more |
10/25/2021 - depechemoroder Likes this wine: 89 pointsVery fresh, but with plenty of intensity - orchard and stone fruits with just a bit of an herbal and citrus lift. Fruit really pings, but superb balance and character here at an incredible price. Has become a real go to with fish. |

10/8/2021 - depechemoroder Likes this wine: 90 pointsThis is a real find. Fresh and racy with plenty of tension throughout. A nice mix of blossom, lemon and stone fruit. Good acidity, but thrilling minerality and subtle weight on the mid-palate. This seems sure to develop, but it's just delicious now and so good with fish. |

12/25/2021 - oenanthe Likes this wine: 92 pointsMedium dark red with a noticeable orange cast. Decanted 4 hours ahead of eating in line with prior experience. Glad I did as the first tentative taste after opening was a far cry from what developed. Seems fully ready although presumably it will keep a few years still. Classic CNdP, sweet and supple cassis meshes with smoky and meaty tones, with herbal and menthol notes in the background. Generous and round, tannins integrated whilst mostly black and some red fruit aplenty remains, the perfect foil for a slow braised lamb in red wine. No sign of heat, singing today and highly recommended. Held up on day two also, again suggesting this could last longer. |

4/24/2021 - Fletch0007 Likes this wine: 92 pointsYellow-brick red at rim. Nose wonderfully expressive of cherry, floral bouquet, intensely sweet. So delicious - real sweetness on palate, great acidity, perfect accompaniment to beef stroganoff - fantastic stuff. 5+ years ahead but struggling to hold back! |

2/6/2021 - oenanthe Likes this wine: 90 pointsThis seemed a better bottle than any of my recent openings. Delicate herbal and earth notes, very CNdP with classic notes of menthol underpinned by ripe black fruit. Really easy and delicious drinking. Decanted once again - the glasses improved as the night went on - the final one some 6 hours after opening was superbly classy. Clearly a wine that needs and benefits from air. It is in a good place at the moment. |

11/22/2020 - oenanthe Likes this wine: 87 pointsUnlike the last one I decanted this one two hours in advance and it definitely improved things. but it was still not a bottle that really sang. With sausages, mash and braised red cabbage this really cut through the fat. Very fruity, medium red (not that dark) still quite tannic. Tastes of hedgerow fruits, leather notes and smoke. |

Still a drinkable wine but without a wow factor. Unfortunately I drank the others before I started on Cellar Tracker. |

9/4/2020 - Fletch0007 Likes this wine: 91 pointsBrick red and fully translucent. Some yellow at the rim. Strawberry and mint on the nose which positively leaps out the glass and palate follows suit. Quite graceful, almost a full bodied Burgundy type weight to me (unlike some earlier CT notes from others). I would say in a good place and very much ready - on this showing not much more evolution left? 5 more bottles to go. |

6/14/2019 - Will Devize wrote: 90 pointsMy wife described this wine as abusive whereas I would stop short at just a little naive. It's a big, bruising chocolate covered raisins kind of wine but has learnt to overcome its deficiencies so as to be acceptable in polite company. Classier than the standard FdM and with sleeker lines. I like it. |

6/13/2019 - ZMAng Likes this wine: 92 pointsRed/crimson. First & second tries out via Coravin: Expressive nose - soy sauce, ripe currants. Rich and soft on the palate, good balance, fine tannins. Some light spice at the finish, long. Enjoyed this but the 2009 inches this out for me, but still one that I need more of. |

1/11/2016 - Enfant sauvage wrote: NRI’m right with Jeff Leve on this. This was clearly an ’07 Chateauneuf, but there was nothing over the top about it. Low heat for ’07, but still a fair bit of sweet lush fruit and not much acidity, which suggests that it might not be a great ager. Still, if you have to have an ’07 CdP (and I wouldn’t generally recommend it), the restrained, feminine style of Etienne Gonnet seems like a decent way to go. The notes I pick up are almost identical to Jeff’s: kirsch, black cherry, and anis. An enjoyable wine, but one for me that I won’t hang onto or have reserve particularly high hopes for. A pretty decent product in a year of overripe, overly alcoholic messes, that’s about it. |

12/15/2013 - Jeff Leve wrote: 92 pointsForward, open and expressing its kirsch, licorice, earth and black cherry core, the wine is plush, round and inviting, finishing with sweet, ripe, spicy black raspberries. This is probably not a wine to age in the hopes its going to make old bones. It's really drinking nice tonight with dinner. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

2/19/2011 - stueys wrote: 91 pointsRated as 91 but it seems pretty unfair to rate this yet, infanticide to be drinking now. Had an hour of air before starting, nose was an oak blackberry and surprisingly fruit filled. On the palate the blackberry theme continued with a hint of spice, surprisingly integrated finish that was medium in length. A nice wine, 5 to 10 years of tender care and I think this will be at least 94 points. |

A much more elegant style than any other wine poured with some ripeness, lovely strawberry fruit, olive, and tobacco. Excellent acidity, savory complexity, and finish. My favorite wine by a runaway margin and a great relief after battling alcohol in everything that preceded it. |
