10/28/2013 - Tamu1956 Likes this wine: 91 pointsLight and fruity nose and very inky in the glass. Tastes of cherry and root beer with a tart finish. A bold and complex pinot that really opened up as it aired. Wish I had more. |

12/24/2011 - Tamu1956 wrote: 92 pointsChecked at opening and then ran thru a vinerator into the decanter for an hour. The change was impressive as it moved from sharp to smooth. A very complex nose with fruit and hits of chocolate. Earthy taste but remarkably light for a cab. Hints of strawberry with a smokey, smooth finish. Continued to develop and became drier and smoother with time. |

11/24/2013 - Tamu1956 Likes this wine: 88 pointsLight to the nose and light amber in the glass. Very crisp, like an apple going from green to red. Great finish. More complexity than a Sav Blanc, very nice wine. |

6/14/2012 - Tamu1956 wrote: 91 pointsSalmon pink in color. Hints of strawberry to the nose, very light. Tastes of cherry, rose petals, peach and mellon all very crisp with an excellent finish. Can feel the alcohol in the roof of the mouth, balanced to the wine. A very unique rose, an outstanding wine. |

2007 D’Alfonso – Curran Pinot Noir Rancho la Viña VineyardSta. Rita Hills more |
12/24/2013 - Tamu1956 Does not like this wine: 55 pointsI really like the wines from D'Alfonso and Curran but this wine is shockingly bad. The color was a light brownish red, light in the glass with a light nose with hints of acetone. The tastes are so mixed, fruit and bitterness and a sickly sweet finish that makes it all but undrinkable. We had two bottles and both tasted identical, glad I had only two. |

1/1/2012 - Tamu1956 wrote: 82 pointsVery fruity nose with hints of acetone. Can feel the alcohol in the back of the mouth. Very woody and tastes much more like a port than a Zin. Disappointing and lacks the body to improve with age. |

Present are tastes of pineapple, honeydew melon, orchids, custard and hints of oak. A perfict balance of acidity and a fantastic finish. Desperately seeking more bottles. |

7/2/2013 - Tamu1956 wrote: 92 pointsThick amber in the glass with a very light floral scent. The initial impression is one of lemon with lots with orange and cucumber and an underlying tone of butter. The finish had a citrusy bitterness like lemon pith which weakened with time and exposure to air. Lots of complexity as a typical Kistler chardonnay exhibits without the usual minerality. And definitely not a California butter bomb. |

7/5/2015 - Tamu1956 Likes this wine: 91 pointsLight floral hints amd bright amber in the glass. A creamy, buttery classic cali chard with hints of melon and grapefruit. A very smooth finish but this iteration lacked some of the complexity of other Kistler chards. Very nice and if you are looking for a great chard that doesn't overwhelm, this is a great choice. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

12/24/2013 - Tamu1956 Likes this wine: 92 pointsThe wine has a beautiful garnet color, light in the glass with almost no legs. The nose was light with hints of fruit and minerals. A light fruity taste that is tart and not sweet and a smooth texture. The finish is long and the wine really improved with air and I probably opened this years to soon. A very nice Pinot. |
