Fourth bottle over the last couple years. Opens nicely about 1.5 hrs in and peaks at about 2.5 hours. Did not decant. Reidel Bordeaux glasses

Very good. Definitely factoring price into this as it was only $21 for the bottle. Nose of blackberry, black plum, mint, tar, leather, and smoke.

Similar on the palate but added earth and tobacco. Maybe some black pepper too. Medium mature tannins, full body, enough acidity.

Still a nice ruby color but inching toward garnet. Still has some time for sure.

This wine is delicious. Still a baby, loaded with beautiful primary fruit. Fresh and lively Red plums, currents lead pencil. Wonderful concentration and complexity

Decent everyday wine, medium bodied, clearly mature. Not worse than 2005 or 2009. I doubt, however, if this will last until 2030. Will drink my remaining >12 bottles in the near future.

Decanted 2 hours. Upon decaninting impressive deep purple hur w/lovely dark berry aroma. Intial pour showed nicely balanced full legs with distinctive blackberry nose. Wine opens to light lead pencil & plum profile. Finish is nicely oaked and paired well with Grilled Lamb Chops. The price to value ratio is terrific.

Nose: Medium(-) intensity with aromas of blueberry, vanilla, strawberry and jamminess.
Palate: dry with medium(+) acidity, medium(+) tannins. Medium body with medium flavour intensity and aromas of cream , cedar, vanilla, redcurrent and red cherry.

Decanted this for at least an hr prior. Good fruit with an earthy leather backbone - for the money, this was a surprise at this stage - still had plenty of life left - A touch more tannic than expected

Fully matured. Medium bodied, solid structure. Black fruit, tobacco, toffee aromas, chocolate and liquorice, with a smooth, sweet finish. Enjoy now.

Very dark in the glass , almost black with dark red rim - again much better on the second day , good complexity with nice dark berry fruit and earthy minerals at the forefront. A very decent mature claret 91 points

Black currant, prune, charcoal, tobacco, and mocha. Lots of acidity and tannin, by far the less approachable compared with the 2020 Belle-Vue and 2020 Lestage, but gradually the fruit finds its way through, and it handled a roast duck extremely well. One for old world palates, one for food (so much better with the duck than on its own). It deserves some cellaring and should gain weight and soften if you can leave it for 5 more years. Drink 2029 - 2034.

Bien meilleur le deuxieme soir.
Le premier semblait plus vert et mince.
Le deuxieme se delie, plus expressif, sur les fruits noirs, le moka, un peu de verdure. Rien de grand mais pour le prix paye cest tres bien.
Devrait etre meilleur dans 5 ans.

Meine letzte Flasche vor ca 2.5 Jahren war wohl nicht ganz auf der Höhe bzw. etwas frühreif - die heutige ist nun voll im Saft.
Sehr dunkles und undurchdringliches Rubin, schwarzer Kern, etwas trüber Eindruck.
Dunkle, waldbeerige Nase, Teer, auch etwas Banane, vanillig und gewürzig.
Am Gaumen im Moment sehr bombig, fester Körper, fette Frucht, viel Schmelz - aber auch schöne Säurestruktur und noch ziemlich forsches Tanningerüst. Ist von allem etwas viel aber dennoch schön balanciert. Makel findet man dann doch in der fehlenden Komplexität, auch etwas grobschlächtig und nicht gerade die feine Klinge. Aber macht viel Spass und begleitet herzhafte Rindfleischgerichte sicherlich einwandfrei.
Auf Grund dieser Flasche sehe ich nun wieder eine gute Zukunft für mindestens 5 Jahre auf diesem Niveau und danach sicher weitere 5 Jahre eher tertiär.

The Merlot is showing brightest now with a more forward berry with chocolate character. On night two this really gets some focus, almost coming off mineral after a flashier, fruitier night one. Plenty of flesh and tannin yet.
