The wine has a lot of tannin structure. There is no complexity to the wine. Probably the worst $25 wine I have had. Bad call Mr. Chan. 2nd night this tastes like rotten shoe leather...yuck |

Lots of salinity on the nose and pallet. For those of you who like Sauvignon Blanc this one is for you. I hope I can find more. |

3/18/2014 - cobystilp Likes this wine: 91 pointsEvery year I buy only a few bottles of this wine. And every year I remind myself to buy cases next year. Here it goes again. Crisp, acidic apples and pears with just a touch of lime zest and some saline. It would remind you of a sauvignon blanc without any cat pee. Love it! Especially for $15. |

Every time I have it I like it a little more. I wish I had more of this wine. Ripe [fermented] apples, bubbles and a bunch of nice acidity. I'll take anyone's wine who doesn't want to keep it. |

We thoroughly enjoyed the cider which was paired with duck foie gras cooked terrine style in the second course. This sweetness and acidity of the cider was a perfect match for foie gras and would also be a good pairing for a cheese course. My rating probably benefits from the overall ambiance of the meal. |

1/7/2008 - cobystilp wrote: 90 pointsVery enjoyable white wine. I havent ever sampled the Arneis grape before. It is a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Light, crisp and fruity while not too sweet. Retailer said it tasted like a cross between sav blanc and pinot grigio. He was right. Nose is like a SB. You get aromas of tropical fruit, vanilla, anise and melons. Acids are crisp and lively. Drank with spicy thai so palete might be off. Melons on the taste plus peaches and ruby red grapefruit. A little bit of butter as it warms up. 13% alcohol doesnt show. Nice! |

2009 Garagiste Cabernet Sauvignon Mystery Wine #27Washington more |
12/21/2011 - cobystilp wrote: 91 pointsPopped and poured. Rimmerman's notes were dead on for this mystery wine. One should have faith in the system. The wine is young so don't worry about holding the bottles. I think there is a fair amount of merlot and/or petit verdot in the mix as it comes across on the nose as sweet. If I wasn't told it was from WA state I would think it was from Rutherford as it has that dusty nose. I really enjoyed the taste. It coats and covers the mouth. Long and tasty. Baking spices. All spice. Sweet potato pie? Just the right amount of sour fruit to balance the load. Sour cherries aftertaste. Just plain great bottle. Nice find Jon. |

2/22/2009 - cobystilp wrote: 88 pointsThis is a remarkable wine for the price. I don't know I can get to 90 points unless I think about its value. I did open it young but wanted to try it. The wine is very well integrated with the tannins and fruit. Nice red cherry fruit and sandalwood. I drank it over two nights and it was even better the second night. Buy more for $11. |
