I like Greco de Tufo and this one is a fine example. Light, crisp and refreching w some citrus and with hint of fresh cut green grass on the nose amongst floral elements. Think mix of a sav blanc (typical S African style comes to mind) and a good p grigio , italian of course.

Drank w buddies Joe and Tony and all liked it. And we love the bottle and labels. very classy packaging. Look forward to the next one.

When this wine arrived I couldn't wait to try. Popped and nose right out of bottle was vibrant, fresh fruit: strawberry, muscadine, blueberries and was that rasberry? killer straight up. Same fruit taste, silky texture, medium body. lives up to the '07 rep for Southern Rhone.

Great now, dont see this as something to save for grandkids in cellar (for me 20 years). Good thing since I dont think I could let it sit that long aanyway. enjoy!

I will get more!!!

the rest of the story...
ok it's 2 days later. finishing bottle. never decanted. fresh fruit gone now, more dark fruit, not quite fig but something along those lines, maybe a little mollasses (spell check!) definite black (maybe a little white too) pepper on finish. still smooth. still great. this would be great with a little blackened chicken or pork right now.

Amazingly this wine is still drinking well. Lots of fruit still in there. Typical of this wine palate is full and loaded with fruity goodness. Not for Pinot lovers. But I like it. Damn good with braised beef though! A little heat still at the end, but not overpowering.

My non-Wine Club selection for the month is the 2005 Whistler The Black Piper GSM
($17.99). This is a great example of the Aussie’s blending skills. It’s roughly equal parts
Grenache, Shiraz, and Mourvedre. It’s clean on the palate with a smooth mouthfeel and gobs of
raspberry fruit flavors. This is a juicy red with excellent ripeness and structure. The finish is
slightly bright with excellent length. This is a very yummy wine.

dont know if only past its prime or started this way but it has lost its color and fruit already, if it ever had it, even though been in my climate controlled cellar the whole way. color looks like a 15 year old wine. Too much green bell pepper for me. pass.

Surprised that this wine has held up so well. Drinking nicely. Not much on the nose but still nice cherry flavors with a little pepper finish. Expected dead juice. For price very nice after 10 years.
