Tried upon opening, then after an hour of air, then after several hours air, then next day, then three days then a week. Consistently unpleasurable at all junctures, sadly. Have had great experiences with other 100% petit verdots (cobblestone from atlas peak and some washington ones). Love the variety, but this one needed to be blended perhaps? |

Soft tannins on the palate, with flavors of dark fruit, cherry and black raspberry; good use of wood- it's noticeable, but not distracting. Finishes with nice length. Good underlying acidity. I like this. This has qualities of a large-scaled pinot noir, and I don't think it's pinot, but I just don't know what else it could be. I guessed pinot by default, and half expected to see that whoever brought it switched bottles. |
