2021 CrossBarn (Paul Hobbs) Chardonnay Sonoma Coastmore |
5/26/2024 - CorksAndCrowns Likes this wine: 90 pointsThe wine smells of butter, butterscotch, vanilla, peaches as well as apple, but it is not overly done. On the palate, it is rich with tropical fruit, stonefruit, and lemon, as well as good acidity. The finish is nice and long as well. Recommendable new world chardonnay for the price! |

5/22/2024 - WineGuyX Likes this wine: 93 pointsTight at first, this has blossomed to great effect! Rich blackberry juice, creosote, creme de cassis, loads of eucalyptus and vanilla oak. Full-bodied, this is rich and loaded with sweet black and blue fruits, spice, eucalyptus and a slatey minerality. Truly excellent at this price point. 4/17/2024 - jandawil48@gmail.com wrote: 89 pointsVery tasty pinot. Decanted for 45 min. Ripe red berries on the nose and palate. Some jamminess. Very slight residual sweetness and nice acid and tannin to make this overall very balanced. Need to be able to pick up the non-fruit notes here and find the complexity. I didn't get any terroir notes, but that just may be my inexperience. |

4/7/2024 - WineGuyX Likes this wine: 91 pointsNot decanted (staying at a hotel), this took over an hour to finally open. This seems like it's a bit past its rime, but has a nose of blackberry and boysenberry, lilacs, mint and new French oak. Full-bodied, this is rich with chunky, gravely tannins and lots of black fruits, milk chocolate and oak. Drink now. 91 |

2/3/2024 - Magnum PI Likes this wine: 89 pointsI enjoyed this bottle undecanted with friends over dinner. I was not paying a lot of attention to the wine, but I did note its mellow character, typical black fruit, and overall pleasant mid-palate I would say it has time left, but has gone over the hill and is starting to decline. |

1/31/2024 - poundback83 Does not like this wine: 75 pointsDisappointing. Found this wine to be severely lacking. For a Cali Chard it lacks dimension and character. There is some citrus and fresh steely notes and very subtle suggestions of tropical fruit. The alcohol is quite dominant. It’s just not that moreish or balanced, which it should be, nor do I think it’s representative of good sonoma Chardonnay |

1/17/2024 - allenn1999 Likes this wine: 93 pointsHad this at Christmas dinner with prime rib and off the bat the nose was powerful with raspberry blueberry and some mineral notes. Beautiful. Palette was medium to full bodied and had notes of red fruit and some interesting cocoa and mineral. Overall a really good value if you can get it in the low $30s. Most places sell near $50 now and that might be a bit steep but napa cabs these days are all a bit steep for the value. Bought a few just to have some Cali cabs. Excellent wine and I agree with the 92-94 pts from critics. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

1/15/2024 - Bimal Likes this wine: 91 pointsSolid color, clarity and nose. Very good balance has notes of the classic Napa Cab fruit. Has dark fruits, good balance between acidity and fruit and still has a strong spine and structure. probably continue to improve and still have 10 Plus years. Enjoyable. |
