Red fruited, earthy, nice acidity, not too complex but then again I wasn't expecting that from Marechal Foch. Got better with air over a few hours. |

1/21/2023 - EricB Likes this wine: 86 pointsI liked this surprisingly much. Still a tiny bit of foxy nose but really works with the rest of the body of the wine. Chocolatey flavors still there and could even go a few more years. Drinking nicely right now - took a chance on setting this down and glad I did. |

Certainly our friends at the local Table Wine would never carry their wines but prefer to tout the virtues of far trendier (and undrinkable) pet nats from a local winery instead. While not exactly "dry," it is definitely on the drier side of the Wollersheim spectrum; pretty simple and straightforward, but not unpleasant. |

That would be a mistake. Firstly, the property is beautiful and would not be out of place among the palaces of Napa. Secondly, this rose is seriously decent and can hold its own against the oceans of Provencal equivalents. Sangiovese-based, it has a pale salmon color, has a nice creamy mouthfeel, and is properly dry, with some strawberry notes. It doesn't rate as a bargain but I would not turn it down if offered. |
