Wine tasting with MX distributor. As story goes, this is Monte Rosso vineyard, Old vine cab (90 years) that Gallo now keeps primarily to themselves. Second vintage under this label. Steel tank fermented. Vineyard manager/winemaker is 30 years old. Moon Mountain Dist? sits on border of Napa and Sonoma. Dark clear purple, spicy berries on nose, same on palate with dark chocolate and dirt. Great structure and length - acidic and tightly coiled tannins. Very, very interesting wine. Picked it up at Costco for $48. Needs at least 3 years but should wait longer. Will be tough.
