2017 Domaine des Carlines Côtes du Jura La Vouivre

Chardonnay Blend, Chardonnay more

9/3/2020 - losososjoe Likes this wine: 90 points

I liked this, but even though the bottle said Chardonnay-Savagnin, it was labeled 100% Chardonnay on the back label and tasted like it to me. I thought it was a blend with Savagnin and that's why I bought it because I've been intrigued by that grape lately.

1/9/2021 11:46:00 AM - Got the bottle from KL Wines and contacted them. They said it was a labeling error issue where the front of the bottle had the correct label and the back had the label of the Tremoulette from Carlines which is 100% Chardonnay. Of course, the mislabeling could have been with the front label because I thought it was Chardonnay, but then again I wouldn't claim I have a palate that could tell the difference if money depended on it.

Plum Market Luxury Fall Tasting (Chicago, IL): Gross. Sweet grape juice with tons of alcohol. Coarse tannins and a goopy, syrupy amount of fruit.

2/2/2018 8:48:00 PM - This review is skewing the rating score . 60 points is ridiculous. I could make a 60 point wine by combining the leftover dregs left in glasses from a frat party into a cuvee. Totally ridiculous score for a quality Turley Zin from Howell mountain.
