PNP. Deep dark ruby magenta color. Salted caramel, black cherry, walnut, black pepper, fig, coffee, and subtle blueberry on the deep, rich nose. Smooth, tongue drying palate, with fine acidity. Full, low intensity tannins on the longish finish.

Perhaps the best GSM I’ve ever had. Could have been even better if served a bit cooler and with a one hour decant.

Bought from auction. Bottle and cork in great shape. Surprisingly at or past it’s peak, color had substantial bricking. Very well balanced, great bouquet, but fruit seems to be fading, tannins mostly resolved. Faded a little in the decanter, too. Could be some bottle variation, perhaps it got cooked at some point, but would drink sooner rather than later. Fellow drinker Tim, who guessed left bank 80s, said he has seen this on a few 2000 Bordeauxs.
