I tasted this wine in its cellar in Rudesheim. Tasted it last after a bunch of sweet wines and though was not impressed purchased a bottle to bring back to the states. What a pleasant surprise. A very quaffable wine. A tad too sweet, but loads of fresh strawberries and a bit of mint. Wish I had purchased additional bottles.

3/27/2024 2:19:00 PM - Sorry - this is not a comment on your tasting note but a question, and I wasn't sure how else to contact you. Yours is about the only tasting note I have found on an Adolf Storzel wine.

We are going on a Rhine river cruise this summer. It is sponsored by a California winery that we are wine club members of and there are supposed to be some good wine tastings on the boat during the trip. I am debating which excursion to do in Rudesheim. One of them is a wine tasting at Bassenheimer Hof (which I assume is the one you did). Others include a hike in the vineyards, bike tour, etc. Did you find the tasting worthwhile or was it more of a touristy tasting of somewhat pedestrian wines? Thanks.
