My recommendation for a Huet 1ère Trie from a great vintage (like 2015): wait at least 15 years (from vintage on). The wines need a long time to show their complexity and to open up. To me, Huet does one of the greatest (residual) sweet Chenin Blancs - but you have to be patient.
IMO it's nonsense to drink them now.

2015 Nathalie Vigot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Petits Monts

Pinot Noir more

PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Flower to Leaf” day): Beautiful bright purplish ruby to the eyes.

First sniff without swirling include aromas of ripe young blue pinot fruits and sweet Asian spices, quite “Vosne-Romanee” indeed. Bouquet releases more florals, herbs and smoke.

I am particularly impressed on the purity and transparency - one can almost see the freshly picked blue- and blackberries emerging from the glass. Touch of fresh cream from the yet to be integrated oak. This well coordinated effort shall disarm every skeptics at sight.

This continues to surprise with it evolving in glass growing into an even more alluring and luxurious bouquet upon about 1 hour since opening.

Equally graceful on the palate. Needless to describe its perfectly judged acidity and inherent minerality from the parcel. Tannins feel like pure silk with the perfect texture. Positively tight finish in which flavours unfold and slowly envelope the palate.

A wine of true class. So much finesse and yet so finely detailed. Worthy of 94-95 points if I were to estimate the range - pleasurable now but only in time will this wine reveals its potential.

Following up 1 day upon opening: Consistent notes. Retain at 94-95 points.

Following up 2 days upon opening: Even better well blended in (I would avoid using well integrated at this point) on the nose, arguably more florals than fruits. A little more spicy on palate.

Still going on the 4th day with sweet pinot fruits and roasted herbs. So suave and balanced on palate. Wow.

I don't really post tasting notes on CT, but feel moved to here. This wine is just flat out great, and drinking very well right now. I've had 4-5 Bedrock and Carlisle wines from the vintage, and can't remember any being nearly as impressive as this. Great fruit, and enough acidity and structure to keep it honest, but moved well enough along and out of the way to let the fruit shine through with grace. Zinberry all along, layered and full. Great job on this one, Team Carlisle!

3/28/2022 6:35:00 AM - thanks for the note. I just had one yesterday. Though in the last few years my taste has veered more into the nuanced and elegant, this 2014 Montafi was singing last night. So full of fruit and yet also nuanced, so big and yet light footed with a vein of acidity that lifts this. Agreed, great job, Carlisle !

Smooth, silky smooth. Fully integrated, some sweet fruit tones of currants and fresh plums remain and mingle beautifully with tobacco, cedar, and leather notes. Really nice day 1. Missed day 2.... day3 was all cedar and really kicked myself for not trying it day 2.

Side by side with a '96 Sterling SVR. Maybe not both in the right camp, and of course certainly not the same age. I expected more from the Montelena. Still pretty primary. Definitely a baby.

so it saw a premature drinking... LOL .
