It is simple one-dimensional wine. If you're looking for refinement, this isn't quite the right wine. That being said, nothing stands out as out of balance. It is not too hot, too tannic, or too jammy. It has the ubiquitous California oak flavor but it's not overpowering. It has reasonable acidity and slightly more tannins than it needs. It has a bit of bite on the palate. People who enjoy strong coffee will enjoy this wine. I'd pair this with blackened catfish or other heavily seasoned (not hot spicey) foods. It is not intended for aging. Drink it this year. |

It's nicely structured with just a hint of juicy jam action, and nothing feels lost in the mix. Mouthfeel starts out lush, swirling the brighter hues and sharp acids around before the darker, more sensual characters enter the fold for a lengthy, dry finish. Simply irresistible stuff. |

There was very little berry, no acid, and, strangely, very little body to go with the strong tannin. Overall, it was out of balance and not satisfying. |
