Lovely fresher dark fruited Shiraz. Deep ruby. Some tar and meat but with a fresh and lively acidity. Mostly black fruits and plenty of them, plum and berry. Savoury. Medium plus length. Would happily try more WA Shiraz.

Slightly oxidative nose, honey and tropical. Body is a bit flat. May have past its best.

Great balance, long finish, high complexity. Tar, leather, dark berries and a hint of vanilla. Unexpected for an Australian wine. Definitely something to search for.

NICE SURPRISE THIS 2003 BAUDIN CAB SAUViGNON. Taste of blackcurrant, green pepper and chocolate taste. Well balanced tannin. Not showing age, but, I think is to be drunk in no more than a year .

Looks pretty good but again value is under a cloud given the cellar door price of $42. Looks a touch older than a 2006 given the medium gold hue. Nose is quite classy with a well moulded combination of obvious citrus fruits, oak and faint burnt match. Actually, a bit more than 'quite' classy. Citrus fruits hit the palate early in a tangy, almost acidic fashion, and keep the flavours quite tight right through the palate. Quite unyielding, perhaps unusual for Australian chardonnay. I reckon this is very young and would like to see how it will progress over the next 5 years.

Divine Magazine - “Merlot Mayhem” (Royal Automobile Club, Sydney): An interesting nose but somewhat more subdued on the palate. Noticed a touch of green on the finish.
