Seemed like the finish was rather hot, the 14.2% alcohol comes through a bit much.

Good Carneros typicity. Slightly ripe and in need of a bit more acid thus. Quite delicious nevertheless. 14.5% ABV.

First things first, this isn't a restrained pinot or burgundian at all. This is very much bordering on a heavy syrah. With that said it is a beautiful wine. Currant, sweet raspberries, and pepper on the nose. Round currant and black cherry, leather, cedar, black licorice, some cola. It's got a few years left for sure.

As mediocre as this is, I found it drinkable on a weeknight for $26 from Garagiste. Most OR Pinots I drink are twice this price. The Syrah dark tones muted on day two to some red fruit and the oak disappeared. So a long decant makes this decent QPR. I wouldn’t buy more but will drink the next two…

Expressive nose. Rich, ripe fruit, with lots of buttery oak and a little spice. Medium-bodied, with a silky texture and integrated tannins. Not my favorite style of Pinot Noir, but good for what it is. It was a good match with a pan-fired chuck steak and sauteed green peppers, but it's not the kind of Pinot that does well with a wide variety of foods. Only fair value at $19.

Semi-oaky without much depth of flavor. Minerally flavor and lighter on fruit notes. Nothing distinctive.

Used for cooking - this wine is sharp and bright red with scents of vinegar and evergreen

Dark garnet color. High alcohol aromas. Weighty dark cherry fruit with licorice and tar flavors. Lengthy finish. Not my thing in a Pinot.

This was much improved over our last tasting 18 months ago. The oak is much more integrated and it felt more juicy and lively than the last bottle. Good plums, rhubarb, and red berry notes. Drink 2021-2024. Technical score: 90. Enjoyment score: 90.

A typical Parkerized pinot. So fully extracted one needs to read the label to identify the grape. Glad I have only one vintage.

Not a badly made wine but the style makes this Pinot taste more like a Syrah sans tannins. Big jammy, overly-ripe fruit and an artificial sweetness. 14.6% alcohol tells you what you need to know about the Brix when this was picked.

Definitely benefited from time to breath, relative to previous bottle that was a pop and pour. With a little patience, this is a nice bottle of wine.

A massive, heavy Syrah-like California Pinot Noir. Gobs of heavily extracted black fruit, vanilla oak, and some tell tale Carneros sour earthiness. Flavorful, but not very balanced; all fruit, but very little structure to provide balance. Even the chicken pot pie couldn’t balance this fruit bomb. Pass in the future. Drink now.

Garagiste Pinot Noir overhyped by JR. Pretty approachable, with a medium body, deep ruby color, low tannins/sediments, etc. The only thing that stands out is a bit of a pungent smell. Overall ok wine... maybe a bit more technical than outright enjoyable.

I agree with BIG JUICY RED. This was a mystery purchase via Garagiste for $26+ and just not at all what I want in a Pinot. It smalls of toasty vanilla oak and heavily extracted, technically farmed (in a bad way) fruit. It is just OTT and quite one-to-two note (oak and very ripe dark fruit). It was better with a chill, seemed to make it a little brighter. The overall flavors were quite nice, but the volume was turned up to 100, whereas I prefer it quite a bit lower.
