10/27/2023 - Mike Kopanski wrote: 88 pointsLofty fruit. More purple color than typical. Scrumptious. Surprisingly barely medium bodied. Very spicy. Gobs of cherry and blue fruit. A little tight, needs swirling and air time to get released. Earthy mushroom Pinot flavor. Some light graphite and oily lanolin on the roof of the mouth. |

1/1/2024 - Dulcie and Aylwin wrote: NRPurchased on the strength of its showing at a tasting: given more time to analyze, it shows even better. Quite a delicate wine that I thought began to reveal its nuances as it warmed in the glass: some orchard fruit and citrus, creamy mouthfeel, moderate acidity. Good value. |

Not so with this effort from Benton Lane - available at our table for only $19. A very obvious yes to purchase as Dulcie approved immediately. Fairly lightweight but balanced though I didn't make a detailed note. |

8/4/2023 - JJYoyo Likes this wine: 88 pointsA nice but uncomplicated OR PN. A little too heavy, a little lacking in the tension I expect from Pinot, but it is not too hot or extracted and does express some Pinot characteristics. Was hoping for a bargain, got fair value. |

5/4/2023 - RonT Likes this wine: 90 pointsOpened this and let it sit corked for a couple of weeks before getting back to finishing and adding tasting notes. I don't think it missed a beat. A nose with cherry and a note of earthiness. Both these continue in the tasting. The wine has a smooth velvety finish. |

12/5/2022 - Islamabadbadbad Likes this wine: 91 pointsBeautiful pale red color as expected from this young Pinot. Nose is quite inviting, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry, hint of sweet tobacco, nice touch of barnyard and some oak. Palate is lively, with fresh acidity (medium plus), mild tannins, dry with a touch of sweetness, balanced alcohol, medium-light body. Blueberries, raspberries, ripe red cherries, little cherry cough drop, bit of lavender. Not much of a difference from opening to about 1 hour in glass. Drinking well right now, seems to be in a great place. If you have a few bottles, maybe hold one and see what happens , but I doubt much improvement is coming. Great wine at a good price, I’ll be back. That’s not a threat, that’s a promise. |
