The fruit is still there after 20 years, but now as part of a harmonious mouthful. One hour in decanter and away we go in Zalto Bordeaux. Now I need to try the last three a couple of years apart to see how it progresses but mmmmmm not sure I can wait too long. |

On the palate: cherries, sweet tobacco, red delicious apple, mandarin orange and subtle wood spice. Some alcoholic heat is perceptible. Sandy tannins are perceived on gums, cheeks & tongue. Long finish of red delicious apple, tobacco, wood spice and citrus. Overall, great QPR...lost a point for the alcoholic heat (which seems unlikely to resolve even with more time in the cellar). |

Classic Tempranillo, blackberry, rasberry and this warm sunny mouthfeel, fullbodied, great structure and will be great for many more years to come. |

On the palate: black currants, black cherries, black licorice, vanilla, blood orange & tanned leather. Fine, dusty tannings are perceived on gums, cheeks and tongue. Long finish of kirsch, bourbon barrell, black licorice and blood orange. In a good spot right now, but probably will benefit from more time in the cellar to let the tannins integrate further. |

3/30/2024 - Brent25 Likes this wine: 92 pointsClean deep ruby/garnet; clean medium nose of cassis, dried blackberry and balsamic; dry; high acidity; medium plus tannins; high alcohol; medium plus body; medium plus to pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of coffee, black licorice, leather and tar: long finish; drink now or in a few years; this was a stunner - big and powerful with some beautiful tertiary; the nose was initially quite shy but opened up after about an hour; after about two hours the balance started to tilt with the alcohol becoming more noticeable; recommend drinking it in that 1 to 2 hour window for an optimal showing; this was my last bottle :( |

Aged for 18 months in new FR oak barrels, racked every 4 months. Deep garnet, bricking edges. Medium+ intensity aroma of prunes, dried cherries, tobacco, leather, chocolate, hint of dried herbs and touch of lavender. Medium+ body, soft and rich, concentrated but also most elegant vintage I’ve tasted, well structured, medium+ very fine sandy grippy tannins, chocolate, plum flavours, medium acidity. On a verge of tertiaries overpowering primary notes, therefore drink up. |
