Pnp and after just a bit of air in the glass the alcohol evaporated and the soft red fruit with back end of ripe tomato with soft tannins took over and made for an enjoyable drink.

Medium garnet ruby color
Notes of over ripe plum
Low tannin
Medium acidity
On the pallete plum cherry maybe wet pavement or tar, tobacco,
Smooth with subtle darker fruits with a Medium long finish warms your chest and the light tannins make you want to keep drinking… high alcohol gives a cozy warming feeling.

Clear light red. Slightly ripe, dry cherry, spice and warm earth nose. Dry slightly creamy red cherry and warm berry flavours and a very dry tannic finish.

Although the nose was a bit ripe and warm the flavours and finish were dry and not what you would expect from Sonoma.

PNP - at Point Break Cafe. Not showing much upon opening, probably should have decanted for an hour. Unfortunately our group drank it up in 20 minutes so it never had a chance to develop.

Consistent with other tasters. Nice color in glass straw gold. Nose is pleasant with zest and honeysuckle but the mouth it's kind of disjointed. Somewhat out of balance, decent, but unfocused. I bought at close out for $20 so worth it as a price point. But a dollar more and no.

My wife looked at me after taking a few sips of our recently-opened Blaüfrankisch and said, “This is good, I just don’t think this is what I wanted tonight. I want a teeth-stainer.” I pulled this selection off of the rack to accommodate her, as I just received this from a SommSelect shipment.

Lots of rich vanilla and suave, oaky deliciousness. Definitely hit the spot for her with the chewy tannins. Mocha, baking spices, licorice, and dark chocolate on the nose with plump dark fruits. On the palate complex and expressive with blackberry jam/cobbler, Christmas spice cake, and coffee grounds. Solid stuff.

Hour and half decant, this is essentially the same as the previous time I drank this with the only difference being my palate has changed, hence the lower score, I enjoy jammy, oaked wine less and less recently.

No formal note, not one of Bonneau's best efforts, this was very monolithic and somewhat lifeless.

Solid rose, a little fuller bodied than most with a fruity demeanor of strawberry and cherry. No minerality to speak of.

Ran through a vinturi to get a little air involved, this has a big nose of dark cherry/kirsch, raspberry and a tangy almost ammonia like aspect which I could not exactly place. The palate follows in the footsteps of the nose with the ammonia presence not coming with it and a note of caramel coming into play Lighter acidity keeps this in balance with a somewhat short finish.

Drank alongside the Talley's chardonnay over 2 days. On day 1, much more closed with more unripe stone fruits and a bit of a hollow mid-palate. Finish had hints of grapefruit, both meat and rind, with a light bitterness. On day 2, much more open with ripe grapefruit and faint notes of white peach. Mid-palate filled in with citrus and a light buttery note on a rounded finish.

A bit richer in mouthfeel compared to the Talley's and slightly more new-world, although it's certainly not a butter-bomb. This wine seems to require a lot of air and didn't open up until day 2. Decent wine, but could probably do better given the price point of almost $30.

Longer decant this time, hour and half and consumed over an additional two hours, the price point makes more sense with the extended air time, this still needs a couple of years in the cellar to mature more fully, worth procuring and putting in storage.

Winemaker's Dinner: Bonneau: Ruth Chris Denver:
No formal notes, had this at a winemaker's dinner with John Bambury. This wine needed a lot more air than I was able to give it, with a very dense mouthfeel and thicker tannins that weighed it down a bit. This needs cellar time and I think will develop into a fine example of a California malbec.
