Lemon coloured, low(+) intensity. Developed, low intensity nose. Smoke and fruity neutrality. (Third day, hints of green apple added.) On the palate dry, medium(+) acidity, medium body. Soft fruit flavours with some passionfruit. Medium(+) length ending in salinity. Fresh. Thick, almost oily texture. Distinguished.

Ripe yellow apples, ripe green melon. autolytic yeast, wet stone, sea salt and walnuts on the nose. Pretty primary smelling for Muscadet - and almost a bit oxidative. Intensity of aromas is medium +. The palate is less fruit forward, showing more of a 50/50 split between fruit flavors lees-influenced autolytic yeast flavors. Intensity of flavors is medium.

Medium body with medium acid. Rounded and elegant. Drinking very well now; and probably won't lose anything with 2-3 more years in the bottle either.

Fizzy palate, high acid, fresh, good still as it holds fruit and smells like pear first, then after 10 minutes mousy arrives ! round due to lees, but length is just medium, I'd rate it around 87/88 again as it Is not overly complex and it is not super long,

Ok wine with a strange array of styles ! it has really some great spots and some faulty lines too... 🤨

Beautiful and the perfect architecture, but a bit short to make exclamation marks.

However, quite a lovely, balanced wine with a compelling mineral showcase.

impression un peu mitigée sur cette bouteille. le vin est mur, les amers sont trop dominants en fin de bouche. l'acidité est présente mais seulement par intermittence. le vin n'est pas encore en place à mon humble avis. A revoir dans 2-3 ans

Feels like drinking chalk, in a rather positive context.
Has a lovely cold steely acidic profile, allowing a transparent construct for the minerality to strut their stuff.

Wow! Beautiful!

From a citrus perspective, I think of this as KABOSU. It's an almost vile, hyper acidic and small, green citrus. But amazing with grilled fish (especially akamutsu/nodoguro) in a way that none other can achieve.

This wine is on the same trajectory: grilled fish spiced up with kabosu or aimilar.

Wow!

Lovely for us Muscadet lovers, but may come across as 'watery' for others.

I'm very happy to have one more bottle to enjoy :-)

Score is for drinking alone. With grilled fish, possibly a mariage score of ocer 95p.

After a few hours of air, the wine enriches. While keeping its citrussy focus, it builds up a richer expression in a very beautiful way.

Initial score: 86p —->89p

Mellowing up on day 3.
Clearly built to last.
Will try to tuck away the 2nd btl.

Bon muscadet, qui ne montre aucun creux ni faiblesse en milieu ou fin de bouche. Il s'est très bien tenu à J+1 à la différence de la bouteille bue l'an dernier. Mais je ne pense pas pour autant qu'il gagne quoi que ce soit à être encore attendu. 88+

Pale lemon. Crushed red apple, minerals, lemon, cream, yogurt, crushed rocks. Medium+ acidity that explodes in mouth, medium body, dry. Very rich and creamy mouthfeel being only medium body. Great stuff.

Very similar to the Gautronnières enjoyed a couple of weeks ago, so lemon and seaspray aromas and a saline mixture of lemon and honey, but less intense than the other wine and not quite as good - and the other is cheaper too.

Delicious and perhaps just a smidgen better than the 2018, it has textbook aromas of sea spray and lemon, then a saline attack and some very elegant notes of lemon and just a little honey. Just as good as the Pépière wines IMO and a little cheaper - so excellent value at 8 euros.

This is an experimental orange wine made with Pinot Gris by a Muscadet producer, Bonnet-Huteau. I like their wines so I bought one out of curiosity.
The colour is, obviously, orange, and I wonder to what extent this affected my senses.
The nose is an appealing blend of yellow peach, honey and spring flowers. In the mouth, it starts quite crisp and dry, before a fairly rich wave of peach, but then a slightly odd sensation of bitter orange, even marmalade, takes over, before the long but bone dry finish.
Quite off-putting at first, but I did get into it and really rather enjoyed it in the end.
I'm not sure I would recommend it, because I cannot imagine what dish to pair it with and as an apéritif I think it needs a little more sugar.
Also, at 24 euros this is a bit pricey.

Quite a weird wine, this one: made from Melon grapes by a Muscadet producer, it tastes as if they were trying to make sure that it didn't taste like a Muscadet. The nose has tropical fruit notes along with the lemon and lime I was expecting, in the mouth it's quite lush, with creamy but dry pineapple and citrus fruits but it's saved by the Muscadet-like bite to the finish.
Not unpleasant but not convincing either and I'm not sure I see the point.

Just like last year's, so an interesting mix of citrus fruits, in a salty and mineral frame, then richer honeyed flavours which give it a good level of complexity already. I can see this ageing very well.
