Pnp. Dark ruby. Black and red cherry, touch of earth and spice. Medium/full bodied. Smooth and denser than most Chianti's I've sampled. Good acidity and firm tannins. Medium length finish. Paired well with meat sauce spaghetti.

Needs a couple hours to open up. Would benefit from 1.5-2 hours of a decant this young. Overall a top notch Chianti Classico riserva. Red fruit on the nose, but plenty of tannin and structure allows for a lingering finish. Classic Chianti acidity comes through this wine

Medium ruby red in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & mulberries with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, pine, spices, leather, herbs & a hint of balsamic & cedar notes in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, plums & strawberries with herbs & minerals. Lingering finish. Quite accessible at present with decanting & much needed extended airing & should develop further with additional aging. Very good QPR for a Gran Selezione when found at discount.

Interesting, Bordeaux-espue nose of new barrique, black currant, scorched earth and as well as some Sangiovese generated stewed cherry and leather. Medium bodied, this is still quite tannic with good acidity and flavors of scorched earth, blueberry and oak. This has never been a favorite of mine, but this bottle is striking me particularly well. Aromatically superb, but the palate is crimped by the combination of high (and not particularly suave) tannin and acidity. Still youthful, no rush to drink remaining bottles. 92

Deep cherry red color in the glass with engaging aromas of sour cherries, leather, fresh ripe raspberries.
On the palate, a delightfully luscious medium bodied mouthful of the fruit flavors noted above.
Excellent acidity and a finish is smooth with lingering fresh fruit flavor notes.
Outstanding Chianti Classico.

2 hour decant. Any earlier and you’ll be premature- I tasted every 30 minutes.

This is a really beautiful Chianti.

Has that mild, balsamic-mint nose that quality Sangiovese acquires. Earthy, not floral.

Medium bodied with moderate tannins offset by some syrupy balsamic glazey flavor.

Wish I bought more than 2 bottles. Will drink my final bottle on a special occasion.

Opens up into a really juicy and flavorful wine second night. Drink now or keep for some years. There’s some slight bitter tannins that if softened will make this wine stellar.

This shows all the progress the bottle we opened in 2015 predicted: 70% Sangiovese with spice-cedar-tobacco notes from 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and new French oak barrels. Decanted for two hours.

From the exceptional 2015 vintage. Ruby color. Little to no sediment. Very old world with notes of iron, black cherries and wet earth. Not a very fruity Chianti. The tannins are still firm and I saw no signs of fading. I still have 1 more bottle which I will hold. A fine wine but I did not see the 98 point score that Suckling gave it. 91 points.
