So time to open the case and try one of 12.
The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium and there is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, raspberry, red currant, light toast, cedar and black pepper and very promising. Still young and will develop nicely. The acidity is still prominent but you feel it will find all together with the wood and the fruit in some years. Promissing but for my taste too young. Very good QRP

This is a sturdy claret with fresh red fruit, hints of vanilla, decent acidity and quite strong tannic backbone but lacking the exuberance and charm of the Saumur-Champigny which followed. It needs food. Acceptable at its c.€6 price point.

WSET 2 wine

55% Cab Franc
45% Merlot
13.5% abv

Yet another family wine operation in Bordeaux Superieur country.

Medium purple/ruby intensity, with nose of red and black fruits, blueberries, strawberries peppers and dirt!(earthiness). Herbaceous.

Dry, full-bodied
Tannic,though I don't sense the vanilla/oakiness with it
Medium finish, but the tannic structure lingers, longer and somewhat takes away from the niceties of this wine.

This is a good wine, though methinks with several other recent Bordeaux Superieur blends sipped, this is a one off purchase for me.
I like it. But I like others more.

That said, if you're a lover of big tannin, that sticks in your craw for 10 minutes after your sip, this might be one for you!

I'm try it again in a couple of air drenched days in the decanter.

Winemaker marketing notes -
With an emphasis on high level of Cabernet-Franc for Bordeaux, a wonderful but erratic grape, this wine is a blend of youth, wisdom and experience, gained from 3 successive family “ Generations ”.
Ageing in used French oak barrels, to keep freshness of Cabernet-Franc fruit.
A full bodied wine with soft tannins, long finish, complex and aromatic.

Vinification : Harvested per vine plot, sorting table, gentle fermentation for supple tannins, careful pumping over, 28/30°C maceration, for 3 weeks in average.
Gentle pneumatic pressing.
Malolactic in stainless steel tanks.
Ageing : 13 months in used French oak barrels, 1 to 3 years old.
Limited racking for better fruit freshness.
Light fining before filtration.
Drink over a period of 5 to 8 years, preferably decanted.

Best with a pork roast, beef steak or a selection of cheese. As simple as that !
Yield : 40 hl/ha Production : ~ 25 000 bottles

Medium ruby wine. Med+ intensity aromas of blackberries, black plums, bramble, slight licorice note. Med+ acidity, med tannins, med alcohol and body.
Good quality wine, not terribly complex but excellent value.

A rarity in Bordeaux....100 % Semillon.
On nose: pecan/ praline notes, and faint dried apricot.
On palate: above flavours enhanced, in addition to ripe pineapple, hay , light smoke , on a full rich, bone dry body, with creamy texture, coupled with light acidity and a faint note of tarragon on the finish....as it warms notes of botrytis are present....a dry variation on Sauterne.
First of the Christmas day wines.

Good, fresh and crunchy fruit, plenty of red berries and blackcurrant, not all that complex and with a slight coarseness to the finish, but no excessive oak either and at this price, excellent value.
