On the palate, a medium bodied wine with flavors of ... not much. No fruit, no oak flavors, but it did have a woody quality (not stemmy or vegetal) No finish. DOA. With pork roast and pecan, celery and blue cheese ’salsa.’ 6/28/01. |

10/31/2021 - srp_gc Likes this wine: NRHad a case of these for cooking, and found a couple in the cellar. Held up well, perhaps even a few years left in the bottle (despite a CT drinking window of 2012-2015). When it comes to a tasting note, one has to factor that this was less than £9, and at that price it's exceptional. Good length, colour and finish. Just don't try to compare it to something at more than twice the price! |

4/22/2021 - johnny wine Likes this wine: 89 pointsThe wine looks red to violet colored. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis). It tastes like black cherry, forest floor, vanilla and oak. Soft on the palate and little spice and medium plus tannins firm. |

4/12/2020 - EhrlichDY Likes this wine: NREnjoyed over two nights. Still primary and tight on night one but blossomed a bit on night two into a classical Pomerol. The nose had notes of plum, cedar, and green pepper. The palate was smooth and the tannin melted away. This is a fine effort and still has years to go. |

Developed nose with plums black currant, hay, damp cellar, cigarr box and blyerts. Round and silky mouthfeel, some tannins, warm, lack a little in structure and acidity. Modern style Bordeaux. |

4/7/2019 - WineKnut wrote: 85 pointsDecanted off of reasonable sediment after pulling a very good cork. Checked the nose after about and hour to find a nose of mead, black pepper, muted cherry, vanilla and dried red berries. Muted black and bright acidic cherry fruit on the palate, honey, fully resolved tannins. The finish is too bright for my palate. |

1/18/2019 - Mls2702 Does not like this wine: 75 pointsThese 2005 Christian Moueix branded Bordeaux have never lived up to the initial hype and are not worth drinking or holding at this point. They were closed/tight for years but have never opened up into anything work drinking. Save for cooking. Big name makes these more disappointing than the $15 price. |
