Excellent red cherry fruit with both the acidity and tannin nicely rounded, and no sign at all of any decline with age. |

But the second day open the wine was reborn, with a darker color, deeper black cherry fruit, much calmer acidity, and rounder mouth feel, while retaining a firmly drying finish. Excellent with a wide range of foods. Thoughly enjoyable on day 5 of being opened. At $15 a bottle, a fine benchmark for Ribera del Duero wines to have to beat in order to justify any higher price. |

Dark ruby colour to the rim with a dark chocolate, plum, blackberry and spice on the nose. The palate is broad, rich and soft with plum and black fruit, mint, menthol, spice and pepper. Tannins melded and great balance. |

Tannins have almost fully resolved and everything seem ready to go, but not too much happened in the glass. Enjoyable, but was quite excited after this had been squirrelled away for so long. The following day this was all stewed fruit and almost port-like, which wasn't the Duero/Douro direction I'd hoped for. No hurry, and hope next bottle in the case offers more. |
