Aromatically complex – blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, and green bell pepper predominate, very full-bodied and round, with the sort of precise fruit tastes I strongly associate with New World wines but without the excessive fruitiness that often plagues California Cabernets.

Dark mulberry, brambly blackberry, violets, and cocoa aromas. Soft juicy black fruit and leather flavors combine in the mouth in this complex blend of fruit flavors. Tannins are soft and rounded with a rich juicy mouthfeel that ends with lingering hints of fruit, leather, and grilled bread. This wine is a reliable jack of all trades, made for cheeses, meat, red sauce-based pastas, barbecue, pizza, or just perfect for sipping with friends.

Not bad for a cheap red blend. Juicy with soft tannins and medium acidity. The plum and raspberry jam fruit is nice, a bit roasted, backed up with toffee and caramel, some subtle spice tones.

As I practice writing notes for my wine class I am trying to get the format correct and use only the approved words from the lexicon they gave us. I know it’s not my style, nor do I like the restricted descriptors, but hey- it’s only temporary till I pass the tests. So, bare with me as we taste this $18 smooth sipper from out west that gets 89 points from me and 4 stars. Salut….

Appearance- hazy deep garnet.
Nose- medium (+) intensity, aromas of plum, blackberry, white pepper, cinnamon, coconut. Developing.
Palate- dry, medium (-) acidity, medium body, medium (-) tannins, medium (+) flavor intensity of plum, blackberry, white pepper, coconut. Finish medium (-).
Conclusions- quality level is good, can drink now but has potential for aging.
A very smooth Syrah with some bottle age that is at peak now.

Somewhat disjointed. The characteristics of its two components are instantly recognizable but they don't seem to mesh very well.

Black cherry fruit, very fruit forward. Short finish with a hint of pepper and spice. Probably a bit past its prime.

70/30 blend of Grenache Blanc/Viognier purchased in '14 that worked well with some lighter suppers. A bit more crispness/acidity would be a plus; perhaps in it's youth. Only one and done for this, sadly.

Fresh and crisp on the nose. Little acrid on Throat. Not great first night. Sweeter and smoother the next night. And softer smell. She does not like at all. Don’t get again.
New Hampshire liquor store. Regular price is 16.99. On sale for 13.99 and with power buy was 11.89

A good value wine. Although I did not get a lot of Syrah character from it, I did think it was a good everyday red wine. Very pleasant to drink.

The nose had dark cherry, plum, and ironically a bit of alcohol.
Palate came across with plum, chocolate, leather, some other earth tones, and hints of vanilla. Meaty tasting with a well balanced finish that had some tartness and tannins.
Nice drinking wine.

Blackberry, black plum, cocoa powder, baking spice, and biscotti. Feels like it has some identifiable terroir. Nice nose, but noticeably weaker and lacking in structure on the palate. The palate is a little softer with spicier black fruit.

Not bad. Grocery Outlet find, and for the price I paid, it's a nice value.

No rating. Brownish tinge around the edge, the fruit was all but gone. taking on a port-like sweetness. Definitely not meant to go a decade past the "drink by" window.

Good QPR for $11. On the jammy side without being sweet. Decent backbone but not much complexity. Would go well with BBQ and spicy foods.

By the glass. Tangy white wine though of watery texture. Adorned with aromas of orange, green apple, peach or freshly cut grass. All a little rough but thinking of pairing a white fish, why not?

Por copas. Chispeante aunque de textura acuosa por el paso de los años. Adornado con aromas a naranja, manzana verde, melocotón o césped recién cortado. Todo un poco tosco pero pensando en acompañar un pescado blanco, ¿por qué no?
