2000 Coche-Dury Meursault 1er Cru Les PerrièresChardonnay more |
3/27/2024 - eschaefer Likes this wine: 96 pointsAged white burgundy, when you avoid Premox and bottle faults (storage, corked, etc), is one of my life’s greatest pleasures. Tonight we were fortunate enough to have two great examples. This wine had everything in the right place, deep golden straw color, perfect viscosity and wonderful aromatics. Minerality with medium acid streak, lemon zest and orchard fruit. A little reductive. I could’ve given a 97-98 on this wine but it faded a touch on the back palate, and I only noticed THAT because of the other wine in a side by side. More on that later but this wine I had my highest recommendation and coche always seem to be worth it. |

3/22/2024 - pbaek wrote: NRA very lean version of this wine, almost tasting like young Chablis with a chalky, stony and mineral character combined with citrus notes. It appears much younger than the 2020 at this stage and needs time in the cellar. Hopefully it will gain more weight with time. With Johnny and Dorthe in Chablis. |

3/22/2024 - pbaek wrote: NRMedium yellow color. Young and tight to begin with, but with air more generous and giving. Understated power, stone fruits, citrus notes, salt and gentle spices. Plenty of layers here and impressive depth and length. Medium to full bodied, this has much more to offer right now compared to the 2017 that we tasted it against. Great wine, but the pricing - oh boy. It’s a miracle one can still find these wines reasonably priced at the restos in Burgundy. With Johnny and Dorthe in Chablis. |

3/19/2024 - astroman Likes this wine: 95 pointsDinner with DBY (Imperial Treasure Great World City): Initially a little muted due to the temperature but it open up show beautiful aromas of citrus fruits, flower, flintstone. Seamless on the palate with similar aromas good acidity ending with a long finish. |

2/8/2024 - RobinTeo Likes this wine: 93 pointsSushi Katori: Bouquet showing waves of popcorn, starfruit, wax, flint and hazelnuts with fruit persistence and minerality on the palate. There is fantastic fruit concentration here but one gets the sense we committed infanticide. With time in decanter and in glass, white peaches and snow pears emerge fleetingly before shutting down and turning a touch too acidic. There is surely immense potential, both depth and flavour complexity, that age will surely bring someday. |

3/6/2024 - Vinobystino Likes this wine: 94 pointsWow. First time trying the meursault from the legendary Coche-Dury and can’t say I’m disappointed. Roasted hazelnut, lemon, white flowers, bit of flint (not as reductive as expected), toast, very mineral. Touch of oak. Great great density. So rich, so comforting, but at the same time so elegant and precise. Piercing acidity to balance everything out. So much depth and length. Everything you want. I was amazed by how ‘ready’ this 2020 already was. Coche is always an experience. |

2/3/2024 - Vinobystino Likes this wine: 91 pointsSome signature Coche reductiveness here, but didn’t call this Coche blind. The finish was too short for me and it lacked complexity for what it is. Still very good 🤷🏽♂️ |

3/13/2024 - Jeremy Holmes wrote: NRThis was absolutely magnificent. Tight and flinty to begin with but unfurled majestically in the glass. There was pure white peach and rockmelon fruits. It had some almond butter too. The palate was rich and heady, but superbly detailed. It had so much chalky dry extract and grapefruit cut to the long finish. |

3/10/2024 - jviz wrote: 92 pointsThis bottle was just a touch suspect on the initial pop, but air assuaged those worries. A little must blew off revealing a rather ripe expression (more than I expected) with a bit of green stem (I think). A little bit of VA and some development. With aeration it integrated and fanned into a delicious companion to our meal. I do think the Coche reds are very good. This is one to check in on now and see if you agree. |
