had that santa cruz pedigree on first sip. green apple and stone fruit mix with solid acidity to give a balanced wine that is light on its feet. terrific mouthfeel and a long lovely finish.

Decanted 20 min, and drank over next half hour with grilled Filet Mignon. Had it side by side with Flanagan 2020 sonoma coast, and this unfortunately suffered by comparison.

Darker fruit, a little herbal taste to it. Fairly full bodied. Was just okay in my opinion

Smoked beef brisket is a tough pairing- the flavors are so rich and smoky that the wine needs to have spice, body and high levels of alcohol. A Zinfandel seems as close as possible to the perfect match. This one is semi opaque with thick legs showing off its 14.8% ABV. The nose is very aromatic- rich red fruits, spice, black and white pepper alongside toasty oak. The palate is very full bodied with great balance between the rich fruit, medium tannins and medium acidity. Ripe raspberry, redcurrant jam, white pepper and blackberry flavors are all present. It's not a blockbuster in style but its rich fruit is very enticing. I dig this wine and for $30 it's a good drop that gets 91 points from me and 5 stars. Drink till 2027.

This is polished with sweet oak that masks the otherwise delicious lower tone red plum and pomegranate fruit. Needs a year or two to integrate; potential for excellence.

There is something about this youngster. Exotic fruits on the nose. Brauny. Fleshy. Lovely Chardonnay fruit. Good acidity. A bit sharp but that will change. Saline minerality. A mouth coating essence. Long finish+ Limited production but worth seeking out. Note to self Try again in a few years

Nose is very characteristic from Santa Ynez(quite unique). On the palate viscous dark fruit with a hint of smoke and dark forrest floor!! I quite like it, a pleasant surprise. 50 cases so super boutique.

90m air for this blend of 45% Grenache, 45% Syrah, 10% Mourvédere. Medium Ruby color. Strong oak on the nose, coupled with smoke, red plum and vanilla...evokes Rioja rather than GSM. Medium body, silky texture, muscular tannins. Red fruit and lots of oak on the palate, which overwhelms most everything else. Perhaps with time the oak will integrate and the wine's true character will emerge.

Very nice and a solid deal at K&L close out in the low $20s. Enjoyed casually over two nights. Green and red apple, nice cut, some brioche. Clean and direct, but not boring, nice finish. Wish I'd bought a couple more bottles.

Very elegant and 100% varietally correct GSM. Notes of cherry and wood appear primarily on the finish. It is a fairly light wine (think in terms of a light Pinot, but Rhone-ish), not mouth-filling like an excellent Rhone GSM
and zero tannins.
I would have rated higher as I absolutely loved the depth and complexity, but it was a tad too light-bodied for a higher rating.
The recommendations online suggest pairing with red meat, but I don't believe it will stand up to those...we had it with 4 hour smoked whole beer-can chicken and that was a good pairing. Grilled salmon comes to mind as another good match. We let it breathe about 3 hours and it did not change over the course of dinner or the evening, so that's about right. DRINK NOW.
