Juicy, a little sour blackberry, ashy as well, softly textured tannic burr grips the mid palate, a little peppery alcohol on the finish. I think the whole bunch is a bit too much for this wine... |

All high quality, but oaky. Predictably buttery on the palate, with roasted nut flavours, low/medium acid, just medium weight, and a medium length dry finish. It sits rather on the front palate, and to me is a fairly simple wine; others at the table were more impressed than I. |

11/24/2015 - TravisW Likes this wine: 94 pointsFantastic. Pale straw with a fine bead. The nose is focused and restrained. No bready, yeasty vegemite bomb here. The palate is young, lean delicious and yet powerful. Built for another ten years easy. Utterly moreish. |

Light-bodied palate; lacks for depth and persistence. Minimal oak. Simple short finish is a bit of a let-down. Best pinot went into the fizz, obviously! |

Certainly showing some development, but nothing like 12 years. Remarkable. On the other hand, the bubbles are fairly large and coarse, and it lacks the yeasty complexity you’d expect from extended time on lees, which is a pity; because it might have lived forever otherwise. Finishes dry and has a heaviness to the texture. Seems like the raw materials are here to make really great fizz, though. Drink up now, I suppose. |
