More blood orange and juicy golden peach on the palate, and a pretty rose-gold color. Damn that's funky! In a good way, like an andouillette, you just can't stop sniffing. Slowly though, the funk fades in glass, and is replaced with more peach and a light rose petal, along with cantaloupe and watermelon candy. And yet... it still smells a bit like hogshit, in a good way. I swear I mean that in a good way. |

Funky nose brings garrigue, purple lavender, and blueberry compote. The palate is full, square, and tangy, bringing a nice dark core of rhubarb, black licorice, and blackberries mixed with high-toned red cherries. Simmering beef stock, wild game, and mushroom soy sauce emerge on the tannic finish. This is drinking in a good early window now but will be best 2026-2032. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 90. |
