11/27/2019 - Jeremy Holmes wrote: NRThe nose is all decaying rose and black earth. In the mouth there's a hint of red fruits, loads of earth, some floral spice and coffee development. Flavours are underpinned by fresh, minerally acidity. It is not deep, or particularly long, but thoroughly engaging the whole bottle through. |

1/20/2019 - PSPatrick wrote: 88 pointsSourced by a dear friend. The bottle was in good condition. The wine was clear medium garnet in colour and offered earthy notes, manure and spices on the nose. On the palate the wine showed cherry, dried red fruit, cola, earthy notes and nice spice flavours, with lively acidity and average to good length. The medium-bodied wine was balanced and reasonably smooth, with average complexity and concentration, and drank well. It pulled itself together nicely with some aeration. A nice, solid and comparatively affordable Burgundy. My wife and I both liked it. Drink now. |

Lots of mature ripe fruit with nice honeyed, caramelized character. Plenty of spice and earth as well. If served blind, I'd have certainly been wrong by a couple of decades. |

7/21/2012 - Wineonthevine wrote: 78 pointsPopped and poured. Practically no nose--other than a slight alcoholic and mild fruit nose. No body, bare mouth feel. Faint tannins. About as watery as you can get and still call it wine. Take a pass even at BevMo's five cent sale. Not even worth $11.00 a bottle. |

2/18/2009 - Mr France wrote: 84 pointsTook about half an hour to open up. Earthy with notes of sour cherry, but not bitter. The smell was nothing special. Finish was decent, maybe a little off balance. I would try and drink this in one sitting as it doesn't seem as if it would get better over a couple days. Not a bad bottle for $10. |
