Dark ruby red. Nose of dried cherry and eucalyptus (as others have noted). Cherries, cranberry, dried cherry and spice on the palate. Some acidity and not really that sweet . Interesting “wine” that exceeded expectations.

This has certainly mellowed and was perfect with the rich chocolate cake.

A really nice alternative to port. I had this bottle served to go with my christmas dessert, Risalamande - went extremely well with the cherry sauce. I really like how this wine brings acidity into the picture + the low alcohol (only 14 % abv). Both nose and taste is dominated by sour cherries (probably because they use the danish varietal = "Stevnsbær"). There is also some hints of spices like vanilla, cinnamon and a little touch of cloves. The sweetness is there but it's beautifully balanced out with acidity.

Milled cherry stones, forced into a curious eucalyptus marzipan, scented of over-roasted Italian coffee. Cola. Tar. Asphalt. Maduro cigar wrappers. Toasted, smashed plum pits. Glossy ballast texture. Saturating, palate-staining, weathered bitterness. A little rummy and syrupy. I tend to adore both rancio wine and Frederiksdal products, but this seems to avoid capturing the majesty of both. Still, it's a remarkable object, and delicious.

Dark red, yellow tinged, viscous almost like a PX while pouring
Generous aroma of ripe cherries.
Harmonious palate, lT, hA, hB, sweetness is balanced fine by the pronounced acidity although it has soften nicely, intense sour cherries, good refreshing finish
Drink now-2040
This is really fine now but has so much substance/acidity that it will probably evolve for ever.
Really fine with blue veined cheese.

The utmost expression of pure deep cherry in sweet & sour form. Very balanced and this bottle was consumed in less than 10 minutes with 10 people. Man this is excellent. Great stuff.

Lot No. 14-08 from magnum.

Extremely dark red and blackish color. Unfiltered.

Nose full of dark and sour cherry. Some blackberry, chokeberry and christmas cookies.

Palate was very rich with dark cherry, sour cherry and cherry jam. Nice acidity but still enough sweetness to hold up against the Danish "risalamande" for dessert. Some almond, cherry pits and christmas cookies as well. You feel the alcohol a tiny bit as well, but it's not overpowering or anything. Overall a great experience!

Lot 22-04. Nice red color with slight browning at the rim.

Quite impressed by this one. Cherry, almond, raisin, dried fruits and port-like on the nose.

Palate was very interesting. Sour cherry, dark cherry, roasted almond, figs, raisin, date and some orange note. Super acidity that really lightens the wine!

Lot 21-09. Extremely dark color; almost black. Mousse was frothing and very dark red.

Dark cherry, cherry pit, a bit of sour cherry and Amarena cherry. Slight hint of mature pear.

Mouthfeel is a little special and it feels very thick in the mouth and has a cherry pit bitterness with the dark cherry and Amarena dominating. I could have used some more freshness and acidity to help cleanse the very dark feeling.

Overall pleasant but I feel their other regular wines perform better.

A wine blended from several vintages of Frederiksdal Kirsebærvin, which in turn is a wine made with cherries that are first pressed, then fermented in stainless steel while macerating with the pulp, stones and skins for 4-5 days. Typically Kirsebærvin is released quite soon after the vinification, but wines destined for Reserve and Sur Lie bottlings are moved to age in oak barrels on the fine lees. Sur Lie is a blend of 2-3 different vintages that have spent an average of 5 months in oak casks and the wine is bottled unfiltered (in contrast to Reserve, for which the wines are aged for much longer). The lot number is 16-03, meaning that the wine was bottled in March 2016. 14% alcohol. Tasted blind.

Fully opaque and somewhat evolved blackish-red color. The nose is simply ridiculous and nothing unlike anything I've ever had in a wine before; honestly, the first impression I get from the nose is seitan dough. This smells exactly like seitan after I've seasoned the gluten flour dough with all kinds of spices. After I get over the seitan aroma, I start to get finer nuances of smoked paprika, some sweet balsamic notes, a little bit of soy sauce, light sweet notes of cherry juice concentrate, a hint of bay leaf and a touch of fivespice. However, the overall aroma still is that of seasoned seitan dough and that is just crazy. The wine is very intense, sweet and very viscous on the palate with a medium body and concentrated flavors of cherry jam and fivespice, some exotic fragrant spices, a little bit of salty soy sauce, light blueberry nuances, a hint of sour cherry bitterness and a lifted touch of cherry pits. There are no tannins whatsoever here, but the high acidity lends good balance and sense of firmness to the wine. The high alcohol shows through a little. The finish is sweet, long and subtly warm with very intense flavors of cherry jam, some seitan dough notes, a little bit of bayleaf, light salty nuances of soy sauce, a hint of sour cherry bitterness and a touch of smoked paprika.

This was one of the weirdest wines I've had in a long time! First of all, I'm not used to wines that smell a lot like uncooked seitan dough (and taste a bit like it, too), but all things considered, this was a surprisingly nice and tasty effort. And just to emphasize - even though the wine sounds very odd and the soy sauce descriptors might make it sound quite oxidative, it definitely didn't seem oxidative and the wine was actually pretty tasty for such a queer wine. It just took some time to get accustomed to the seitan flavors, noticeable sweetness and the at times very intense flavors that weren't necessarily always of cherries, but all kinds of spicy and savory notes. I have hard time guessing whether this wine will improve with age or if it's best now or if it will just stay like this until its end of days, but I guess it doesn't matter. This is a fun fruit wine of high quality and quirky flavors. I guess the wine is worth its price at approx. 20€ for a half-liter bottle, even if I don't know what to make of this wine.

A very nice surprice this Wine was. Gentle bobbles and a delicate taste of fresh cherrys. A good balance between the natural dry and Stones bitterness of the fruith and the sweetness. Suited the Blue cheese and the goatcheese extremely well. Highly recomendable.

A cherry wine thus no points given.

Impenetrable almost black colour. Intense stony bouquet. No doubt this is made from cherries. Sweet, med(+) acid, med- tannins, full-body, high intensity, med+ alc. Cherry fruits certainly but also cherry stones balance this wine beautifully. Very harmonious and excellently balanced between the sweetness and the more dry elements in the wine.

Drink or keep.

Cellared for 3 years; pitch dark / black; very ripe intense black cherries; concentrated intense long deep fruity attack, alcohol well kept in balance with acidity, sweet tones; perfect companion to ris-a-la-mande, believe it has benefited from a bit of cellaring, more balanced, less “sauvage”; obviously not a wine in the normal sense, but nevertheless a nice chance and really well made

A simple, yet very good Danish dessert wine. Will be interesting to taste some of the more advanced wines they have in the assortment. Deep ruby. Simple yet pronounced aromas of cherry, almonds, marzipan. Sweet, full body, medium acidity, low tannins, dry. Nicely balanced.

Deep dark black center, red to brown rim (who knows what that means with cherry wine).
Cherries, subtle wood, sweet, some herbs.
Smooth, good combination of fruit (cherries) and oak, significant acidity, fantastic length of ripe cherries and slight nuttiness.
Much better than the first bottle - some time has really helped this mellow. Drinking well now, but will last for some time given the acidity.

I have tasted several versions of this wine before though I don't recall precisely which but this was by far the best. The nose is mostly about the bitter almonds (cyanide) of cherry stones but in the mouth it had a most extraordinary sequential character, like a rain shower passing, with acidity, beautiful Burgundian cherry aromas, marvelous freshness and sweetness flowing over the palate, outdoing nearly all ports I can think of in the process.
