Unusual nose for Gamay - black tea, strong earthiness, and light sassafras with watermelon and wlld berries peeking through, like sunlight peeking through clouds. Palate almost reverses things with muscular dark cherry with penetrating intensity and acidity, with the earthiness and spice poking around. The finish doesn't develop as much as one might like, with the firm tannins accented by savory herbs and redder cherry fruit but the energy and acidity fades out. Still, there's complexity and interest. |

Lovely, elegant aromas of ripe cherries with herbs, roses, and some minerals. Beautiful, elegant, transparent palate. Ripe cherries, herbs, bark, and minerals. Tannins come in on the midpalate but there's still a nice elegance to palate. This still tastes somewhat young but absolutely delicious now. 93+ |

No problem; this wine seems a bit deeper and more interesting these days. There is a green streak that gives it some real character. Not what one might have expected from such a ripe vintage.
