I was fortunate enough to try a tank sample at the winery last summer and I hounded them for months, waiting for them to release it. It was worth the wait. I'm not sure any of us had ever had Carmenere from WA state, but many in my group had tried Chilean versions. We all loved this! |

Almost a GSM blend, with Petit Verdot replacing Grenache. 60% new oak and there is definitely some vanilla flavoring going on. But very enjoyable. Dark color. Long finish. A big hit with everyone. |

I purchased this direct from the winery after a full day of tastings at various other wineries, so I really didn't remember much about it. Part of a Cabernet and Cabernet based wine night with my wine group at a local pizza joint, and it might ave been the group favorite. It comes from 2 of my favorite WA state vineyards, Ciel du Cheval and Champoux. Full bodied, and while it may be young, it is drinking great right now. |

Very light tannins but strong acid. Seems in balance to me as acid balances the strong fruit taste. Really enjoyable. |

Nose immediately said 'chardonnay', and so did the palate with apple and pear typical of the grape but there was something else here that was seductively floral with a whiff of baby powder talc. From WA's new Royal Slope AVA, it's more attractive and complex than merely unwooded chardonnays due to excellent body and an 8-month fermentation in a concrete egg. Really, really liked it. Only available to club members; 82 cases made. |

I was trying to decide between a bordeaux style or syrah and remembered this and so glad I did. Tasting nice but still definitely ageable. |
