It's tough to tell if there is more underneath because of how ripe and prominent the fruit flavors are. Med. to full bodied; med tannin; low acid; shorter finish. It's definitely a new world style with lots of fruit and not many savory flavors. To its credit, it doesn't taste fake like many cheap California wines. Overall, a decent wine if you enjoy the style. Medium+ body, good acidity and well integrated tannins with a nice long finish- but runs a bit too hot, impacting the overall balance. Paired well with a cheeseburger. |
