Very nice. Very food friendly.
Balanced sweet/tart, *soft* tannins. Black cherries, black pepper, with slight (nice) earthy notes. Finish is plums with a light floral touch that lingers.
We had this with grilled lamb loin chops, and the cinnamon in the rub really paired nicely.

Black plums, leather, anise, white pepper with a lively acidic finish. Could go another 2 years or so easily. Nice wine.

Rogue Valley SuperTuscan Blend more

12/16/2019 - winedrinker101 Likes this wine: NR

Dark garnet in color, this blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, opens with notes of violets, huckleberry, anise & dark cocoa. The palate follows with rich velveteen layers of blueberry, dark cherry, notes of caramel and a hint of cedar. This is a full-bodied wine with balanced acidity that will age well for 4-6 years.

2014 Ledger David Sangiovese

A well-made Sangiovese from Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley—an appellation that shows great promise, turning out Spanish and Italian varieties of focus and depth. The 2014 Ledger David Sangiovese offers up a sumptuous bouquet of black plums, and blackberries, all resting beneath a garland of violets. In the mouth, it's plush and open knit with black fruit neatly encased in fine tannins and cedar and bay leaf—that charming violet note reemerges at the close. 14.6% ABV | Sample

Ledger David's 2015 Rouge Valley Tempranillo displays some hard angles on opening, especially in terms of its acid balance. It’s much better on the second day, yielding soft aromas of plums, bing cherries, cedar, and violets. Medium bodied, and tightly-wound, with powdery tannins and a spicy hit of black pepper that charges in at the back palate and gradually fades to Dutch process cocoa powder. Needs decanting. 14.7% ABV | Sample

This is my first experience tasting David Leger wines, and I am absolutely blown away by their 2016 Rogue Valley Sauvignon Blanc. It opens with eccentric rings of guava, kiwi fruit, juniper berry, and chervil. On the palate, it’s an acid metronome—an electric, energetic pulse that flows in and out of a tropical and orchard fruit core, culminating in a burst of pure, white grapefruit. I look forward to tasting more from this winery. 13.4% ABV | Sample
