Extremely impressive wine. Tasting notes from previous reviewers are spot-on. I think this is at it's peak now, but has a solid 2-3 years remaining before the fruit starts to fade.

Black cherry and sweet red fruit over mocha and warm spices. Elegant. The tannins are fine but persistent through a long finish with a hint of pine wood.

Extra big, fat, round. Deep dark plum, vanilla, chocolate on the nose. Very concentrated. Would not say overripe, but maybe just on the edge. Not to my liking, but quality.

Outstanding. Such great nuances that seem to change throughout the night. Still very balanced with signs of age but a tannic edge to it. One of the best I have had in a while and if stored properly could last a few more years.

Shows more vanilla spice than I like in my cab, this must have been a massive oakbomb in its youth. This particular bottle had a very good fill into the neck, with a pristine cork, so storage was likely very good (I purchased at auction a few years ago). Very youthful with a deep purple color, ripe black fruit nose, and blueberry, black plum and mocha notes on the palate. Big and pretty rich, so distinctly New World, but a bit more rugged and less showy than Napa. As others said, this is throwing off tons of sediment and the last glass (on night 2) was pretty cloudy and chunky, even with meticulous decanting. In my experience, these older Leonetti cabs age very gracefully, and this was another enjoyable bottle. That said, it seems like this vintage is creeping toward the era of "internationally styled" bigger/oakier reds, because I recall the '88 and '89 not seeming overtly oaky.

Dark fruit, spice, and just a hint of menthol. Fully resolved, with secondary and tertiary notes emerging. Very good now, I think this has plenty of time left but not sure if it will get much better. Drink or hold.

Open for Easter lunch to accompany ful medames and roasted lamb. Cork was perfect and came out nearly with Durand. Beautiful light ruby color that’s slightly cloudy. In the nose, still lots of cherries, with some mushrooms and forest floor notes. Bright medium acidity, beautiful cherries, some leather, cocoa beans and medium - tannins in the palate; long ending with some oak and spice.
I opened the wine and let it breather for about 90 minutes - some air did it wonder. An extremely good wine that shows its age graciously, without forgoing much of the beautiful fruits it must have expressed even more in its youth; however, what it gave up in fruit it gained in secondary and tertiary notes, making this a complex, complete, and very enjoyable wine. No rush to drink really - but this is in an incredible spot now.

For my preference this is at peak drinking now. Soft tannin but still some structure. Ripe plums, mixed berries, mint, cassis and aged leather. This held strong across two nights. No real secondary notes at this point.

Ordered and finished with friends at a restaurant. Did not decant as was not sure of the provenance, but cork was in good shape and the wine was showing very well with room to age and improve for another 5 years. The wine started showing its best after an hour with vigorous swirling and could use at least a 1 hour decant at this stage. Beautiful and perfumed bouquet of roses, flint, toast, blackberry, black cherry and Sous bois. Palate still rich with cassis, blackberry and some tart Rainier cherry. Toasted vanilla with very pleasant mineral undertones and tomato leaf/herb accents. No heat from 14.6% alcohol -- wine has come together very well. Glycerol mouthfeel while retaining medium plus acidity with fine, well integrated tannins. Medium plus body with added textural weight and a long finish. Impressed. This would be a great wine for any Bordeaux lover to have in their cellar.

Over time as I gain experience with Leonetti wines, I find that I'm liking the Aglianico the best. 2014 was stellar, and I just am trying the 2016; it's at cellar temperature, PnP, and already I can tell this is an amazing wine. Good tannic structure... my guess is it can age easily 10 more years. Probably now it is too tannic for many people. A bit of black cherry on the palate, lovely acidity, and good oak.

After 30 min decant, slightly opaque, dark red, long silky legs. Massive nose of ripe red fruits, pine/forest floor, mushrooms, leather and cigar smoke. Awesome. On the palate, still tight and young, big tannins but very well balanced. Cherries, cedar, gravel, awesome. I imagine that with more decant and ageing this will become even more impressive. I love it. Match with a red steak and grilled veggies and let the hedonism unfold. I wish I had more.

Purple in color. 14.3% ABV. Stunning nose of dark fruits, Whitman Sampler box, graphite and flowers. Full bodied with impeccable balance. Rich, silky and concentrated. The classic iron fist in a velvet glove type of wine. Blackberry, creme de cassis, tobacco and cocoa on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Stunning Merlot and without question as good as it gets from the state of Washington. Best over the next 4-6 years.

Opaque garnet purple color. Nose of red currant, cedar, hot house flowers, holiday cake spice, hints of eucalyptus. Layers of red plum, blackberry, rich green pepper, earth, and saline on the silky palate. Moderate acidity and softened tannin. Long finish of haunting red fruit and spicy earth. Oh so great with grilled ribeye.
