4/21/2024 - BRR wrote: NRShows bricking. The nose was initially pruny and stewed, but that blew off quickly. This is still a ripe interpretation of Pinot Noir for sure, but it hits the delicious notes as well. I’d serve this as a cocktail wine or with heartier fare. Wild boar ragu would be excellent with this. Drink now. |

7/22/2013 - The Drunken Cyclist Likes this wine: 93 pointsetail $50. I have chronicled on this blog before my affinity for Clos Pepe fruit. I have also stated several times that Brian Loring does a fabulous job and even though most of his wines are consumed fairly early on, I think his wines hold up very nicely with some additional age. Thus, this bottle promised to be a home run. It was. Deep, rich fruit (but not overpowering) with secondary flavors bursting out on the mid palate. The finish was firm, enticing, and long. Outstanding. 92-94 Points. |

3/1/2024 - thebonnydooner wrote: 91 pointsThis may be my last ever Loring, as they dont appear to be imported into the UK. But it was good while it lasted! Not had the Seven Springs before, but was excellent. Nice ripe black and red cherry fruit, maybe a little drying out on the palate, soft tannins but with nice spiciness and good pinot character. Nice complexity as well. Overall a really nice wine and probably about peak, cannot see mjuch improvement |

3/1/2024 - underwds wrote: 90 pointsLight ruby color, not rose, but headed that way. Cherry and strawberry fruit with a nice ripeness that belies the color. Some secondary cola notes. Nice, clean, short finish. Could be the poster child for a good table wine, and I mean that in a good way. |

2/16/2024 - timewithwine Likes this wine: NRThis bottle is ready to drink. Its inviting sweet cherry, cola, cinnamon, and touch of vanilla won’t be around all that much longer. Easy drinking and typical of Brian’s Pinots. If you like his wines, this one is in a sweet spot. Almost no sediment; just some slight, fine grains. 14.3% alc. With leftover, homemade pizza (pepperoni and veggie). 02.16.24. Recommended. |

This wine is surprisingly light colored relative to the typical house style. Beautiful clear Garnet color. The attack is sweet, raspberry and red currant. The background is dominated by a ripe strawberry. |

2/13/2024 - underwds wrote: 88 pointsNose was more port, than wine. Not as over-the-top when it hits the tongue, but still very fruit forward. Not quite jammy, more on the luscious part of the scale. Soft finish. Not at all what recent Lorings have leaned toward. There’s definitely an audience for this, but for me personally it drops between robust and restrained so nothing to make it memorable. |

2/3/2024 - Nguyenning wrote: 88 pointsDrank over two days. I'm a fan of Loring pinots, but I must say this bottle was a little underwhelming and probably the least favorite pinot I've tried of theirs. Not horrible, just flat and boring. Does not hold a candle to their Kessler-Haak, Boekenoogen, or Cargasachi releases. I don't see this one getting any better with age either. |
