I was a little concerned that the 7 year age was too long as the alcohol really overwhelmed the mouth feel. Hard to get a good taste of the fruit so I let it sit for a night. Night two was much better as I could make out some oak and even slight vanilla notes in the aroma. The sip was also not as harsh as the night before but not much character as the alcohol was too established. Will try this winery again with a younger vintage. |
