NV Stillwater Artisanal Ales Farmhouse Ale Stateside Saison

Maryland Malt, Grain more

Very full-flavored, very creamy Belgian yeast. Fat & rich. Malt & (creamy!) yeast driven brew. Mostly amber malt, w/some caramel malts. Great complexity. Impressive: this is not really in my wheelhouse, but can't help liking anyway. Big Stillwater fan. Really very nice stuff. If you like malty, soft, creamily sweet Saison's, you'll like even more than me.

4,8% alcohol. A sour wheat ale brewed with mango, lemongrass, thai chilis and sea salt.

Slightly hazy yellow color that reminds me quite a bit of pineapple Fanta. The nose is sharp and sour with aromas of mango, yeasty character, some tart green apple, a little bit of moss, a greenish hint of asparagus and a touch of lemony citrus fruit. The beer is dry, crisp and refreshing with medium body and bright flavors of lemony citrus fruits, some earthy funk, a little bit of sweet mango and a hint of apple peel bitterness. The beer feels quite noticeably sour with pronounced lemony tartness and very ample but surprisingly smooth carbonation. The hop bitterness is almost nonexistent. The finish is juicy, sour and sharp with medium-long flavors of tart lemon, passion fruit and green apples, some salinity, a little bit of sweet, mushy mango and a hint of yeast.

Overall a very nice, crisp and refreshing Gose with fun, tropical leanings and good emphasis on the noticeable sourness. Overall this beer felt much more acid-driven than Goses usually do, bordering on Gueuze-level tartness, but as I am an acid-head when it comes to beers and wines, I do not mind one little bit. A tasty effort (even though I didn't notice any chili character despite the ingredients and worth a re-buy (although we managed to buy the last bottle in the bar). At 198 SEK (approx. 19€) for a 651 ml bottle in a bar, this was a good purchase.

Cloudy light brown with touches of amber coloring.

Nice tones of malt, hop aromatics of citrus, tangerine, herbs, hay, lemon peel and some slight brown goats cheese (norwegian style).
Nice smooth mouth feel, fresh, nice balanced bitterness and freshness. Concentrated. Fruity and medium to long lasting finish. Has a slight hint of sweetness in the finish which I find very appealing and suitable for this wine.

(I have not entered a score, because it uses a portion of the score for "further developing". This is meant to be drunk fresh, so I could either score it 0 or 10. My score will be like this 50+13+17+(0 or 10). 85/95)
