Those notes were also reflected in the palate. Some light grape tannin was present. Most of the tannin was actually from the oak. In between those was a super watered down wine. 12/25/2023 - biggie Likes this wine: 92 pointsRoot day. Cork broke in 1/2 - bottom 1/2 was stuck to side of bottle and broke into tiny bits. Had to push the bottom 1/2 into the bottle and decant through a strainer. Little sediment. Poured dark garnet into the glass - youthful looking. Aromas of dark fruit, dark chocolate, damp loam and just a bit of forest floor. Pure fruit and chocolate on the plush palate with a hint of herbs. The finish was long with the fruit and light herbs continuing. Tannins fully resolved and acidity was medium. Delicious bottle. |
