4/2/2024 - J N Ulrich Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis 2020 is still pretty heavy on the tannins, overshadowing the Grenache fruitiness. Look forward to seeing how it does the 2nd day after being open for 24 hrs. |

2/23/2024 - VAGenius Likes this wine: 93 points30 minute decant. Nose of black raspberries, leaves, earth, and a hint of lavender. Black fruit and black olives on the palate with graphite and fresh thyme. Black cherry preserves add some sweetness on the finish, with vanilla bean, black plum, and vibrant black raspberry acidity. Quite a smooth wine. |

2/16/2024 - plechazunga Likes this wine: 94 pointsTook 30 minutes to open, opened to rich red fruit with still a bit of tannic structure on the back. A rich enjoyable mouthful with little to no alcohol showing through. Beautiful, and such a surprising delight. |

After an hour decant, the heat was gone and grainy tannin had softened - but not diffused - but no other hidden notes appeared. Perhaps not my style but I expected more. Drinking window 2027+ to give this its best shot at integration in the bottle. |

11/25/2023 - SLOFred Likes this wine: 93 pointsAnother outstanding Paso GSM from the Westside. Full bodied, totally integrated, Grenache dominant and tasting really nice right now. A real bargain on sale at Wine Exchange at $33, one of the few retail outlets that non-Villa Creek members can find their wines. |

11/9/2023 - Charlie C Likes this wine: 89 pointsBright purple-red color. Vibrant cherry, cranberry aromas. Bright and soft on the palate, cherries, blackberries, anise. Fine tannins, bright acidity, lovely balance. Finishes moderately long with dusty cherry notes. A lovely, early drinking wine, bright and juicy. Drink next 4 years. 61% Grenache; 25% Syrah; 10% Carignan; 2% Mourvedre; 2% Petite Sirah. 14.7% ABV but doesn't seem hot. |

9/12/2023 - MunkiMunks Likes this wine: 93 pointsPnp - first bottle from this producer. Seems to be just hitting its stride as the tannins are fully integrated. Showing loads of blue and bright red fruit thats only beginning to darken as it hits year 7. The spice box finish brings this up a notch for me. Drinking beautifully now and will probably continue this way for several more years. |

9/8/2023 - kgoldsbe Likes this wine: 93 pointsI reviewed this wine in 2014 and felt it needed some age to come together. It is now in its drinking window! It’s a dark fruit forward wine with old world finesse. The nose is savory with notes of mild olives and digestive herbs. The tongue starts with big black fruit, transitions to tart cherry and ends with a smooth pleasant earthy finish. Drink it now! |

9/1/2023 - drwine2001 wrote: NRPaso Robles Winery Visits; 8/30/2023-9/1/2023: Purple hued ruby. More fragrant and floral than the 2011. Medium weight. Here the fruit is brighter and leans toward red rather than black. Some savory tobacco leaf, soil, lower acidity and tannins than its older sib. Supple, ripe, and open, although I doubt it will age as well as its 2011 counterpart. |

Lush black and blue fruit with olive and soy complexity. Herbs, soil, and a leaner drying finish. This is also very French in style despite the fruit forward attack. Excellent. |

9/1/2023 - drwine2001 wrote: NRPaso Robles Winery Visits; 8/30/2023-9/1/2023: Purple/ruby color. More licorice and olive on the nose than the 2010. Rich, ripe blue fruit with excellent acidity, enlivening orange zest, and a layer of soil that persists through the roundly tannic finish. Outstanding, youthful, and promising. Bigger than the 2010, but still bright and lots of incipient complexity. This pair of wines was enormously impressive. |

9/1/2023 - drwine2001 wrote: NRPaso Robles Winery Visits; 8/30/2023-9/1/2023: Ruby. Wild aromas of pine and violet-a dead ringer for French Syrah. Fabulous mixed fruit with incredible depth. Bright, supple, and elegant with terrific inner mouth perfume. Long, soil-filled finish provides a drier contrast at the end and suggest that this still needs another few years to totally resolve. This was clearly outstanding and the most exciting wine we tried during our trip to Paso Robles. |

9/1/2023 - drwine2001 wrote: NRPaso Robles Winery Visits; 8/30/2023-9/1/2023: Deep red. Medium to slightly lighter weight. Supple sweet red fruit, tangerine, dried herbs, good acidity, and lowish tannins. Very enjoyable now, showing much more Grenache varietal character than Mourvèdre structure although the blend is 50/50. |
