Again a light weight. Not enough fruit. But smooth and solid.

Still seems youthful, big dose of oak on the nose and palate. No sign of age. Note to self-wait 5 years on this (2027)

Decanted for two hours and put back into the bottle. Nose was dark and rich. The wine was tight for almost an hour after pouring in the the glass. Once it finally opened it was deep and rich, but the finish was too quick.

I must have an off bottle, cause this tastes past peak. Burnt prune/raising flavors. Hopefully my second bottles shows better.

Winery says to drink this vintage this year. I would agree. It has some good dark fruit, but it is showing too much age.

Agree with others. Hardly showing age, especially visually. Excellent Left Bank nose - pencil lead, cigar box, dusted blue and black fruits. Aromatically compelling with nice intensity, while the pallet showcases cohesion that has likely come from time in bottle.

I’ll echo OAKVILLE72‘s notes. Tons of sediment.

Agreed that this seems like a left bank Bordeaux. Wish I would have decanted. As it was, pnp... no sign of age in the color and quite structured and never really unwound over the hour we were drinking it. Decant next time. Hard to believe this is 10 years in...

What I wish my typical $100 Bordeaux purchase tasted like. Has some musty cellar on nose. Rich, tart fruit on palate. Some dark fruit too, maybe black currant. Plenty of structure for you structure whores.

Deeply colored, intense and still relatively young. A fine monster Cab from the Rockpile AVA in Sonoma County.

(1/7/2022) Similar to the 2012, balancing strength and fruit with good acidity and proper tannins. May be the best of the vintages 2009-13.

A ball buster — please excuse the French. Still tannic and straightforward. No subtlety involved. I think this wine will last forever.

(1/6/2022) Sort of a cross between the 2010 and the 2011: the intensity of the 2010 coupled with the more Médoc-like nature of the 2011. Great color. Fruit is still reserved, tannins are apparent. If tasted blind, I would not have guessed it was almost 10 years old.

Primarily black fruit on the nose, vanilla, spice. On the palate, reasonably well-integrated tannins, but a bit heavy handed on the new French oak. Decent every night drinker and good QPR at ~$25/bottle.

Very different from the very California-style 2009 and 2010 vintages. This one is more like a Cabernet Sauvignon-heavy Médoc, i.e., less over-the-top fruit. Only medium-opaque in color, shy in the nose, restrained, balanced in terms of acidity and tannins. Needs time to open up.

Just one year exactly since I first tasted this wine. Still austere. No telling when this Cab will be fully mature, provided the fruit holds.

(1/2/2022) Deep color. A Cabernet Sauvignon that is still young, showing fruit + good acidity + tannins. A bit different from the 2009, which is fatter, softer and ready to drink now. This one still has time to develop.

Inky dark with still vibrant color. For some reason, I could find absolutely no nose in this, despite being decanted and given plenty of air. Flavors are definitely Region 2-3 California, with lots of sweet Cabernet fruit, soft finish and a bit of tannin. Still in very good shape and should hold for a few more years. Tastes great but the absence of aroma is odd.

A bright cherry-blueberry nose opens up to dark cherry, currant, mocha, licorice and hints of fresh herb and earth tones. Medium- to full-bodied with a moderately tannic finish.

We received this wine as a gift and enjoyed it over a pizza dinner. It is an assertive but not overpowering Cabernet. It still has some time on it—we found it somewhat more tannic than we enjoy. It is a less-ripe Cab style with some minerality but without dominant pyrazine.

Structured start to finish. Fruity yet dry, giving sense of tannic presence but also very refreshing. Crisp apple, strawberry and spice notes. Outstanding
