9/13/2021 - Jonquil Likes this wine: NRMagnum. Drank with friends as this was their anniversary vintage. 16 years later after harvest! Quite nice. No pruney characteristics other than maybe color. Maybe blue fruit? Nice acidity, very balanced with a nice finish. |

4/18/2021 - rickspicks wrote: 90 pointsAnother enjoyable bottle - and exactly like the prior bottle. In fact, I'm going to copy and paste my prior notes because that's exactly what it tasted like: "Somewhat rich, ripe and soft for an Oregon pinot, but with nice flavors of cherry, cranberry, earth and spice. Soft and smooth with a lush texture and medium body." |

2/11/2021 - Jonquil Likes this wine: NRSurprised by this. Friend purchased from winery as they seem to be liquidating their library wines. Cork came out easily with ah-so. Decanted for about an hour. Initial nose is dusty and prune but still surprisingly present with fruit. Fruit also apparent on the palate. Unfortunately we were drinking outside (thank you covid) and so cold temps may have tempered it's nose and taste. That evening may have later become a little metallic. Next day was not terribly interesting--but not bad. |

9/22/2020 - JaynPam Likes this wine: 89 pointsDrinking very well, and I can't imagine that it will improve further. Popped and poured. Dusty on the nose when first poured, but this opened up to smells of dirt, wet hay and leather. Lots of earth, dry leaves and mushrooms on the palette. |

7/5/2020 - JaynPam Likes this wine: 89 pointsThis is drinking well. Popped and poured. Initially a bit disjointed, but over an hour the flavors melded together and this was a beautiful example of Witness Tree wine. Deep, dark fruit with some mushroom/dirt notes. Still a little bit of tannin. |

3/31/2020 - rickspicks wrote: 88 pointsI tried a second bottle and it was better than the first, still earthy, cranberry-dark cherry flavors with a medium+ body and a rustic character - almost syrah-like in flavors and texture.. I did not get the meaty component in this bottle that I did in the first one. Probably an 88 for my palate - as I prefer lean pinots and this was not lean. |

3/19/2020 - rickspicks wrote: NRPrimary impressions were that it is earthy, medium to full-bodied, and with mostly cranberry flavors. It does have an unusual component - maybe "meaty" as described in prior note. It has a lot of what I expect from an Oregon pinot, but it's not as lean and structured as I thought it might be. Not a wine I would recommend, but it's decent and a great value. 87-88 |

2/19/2020 - colorflavorlocking Does not like this wine: 80 pointsWhat a strange pinot. Trying to describe this wine the words foremost in my mind are “beef stock.” Aroma of savory spices. Oily and full bodied, with flavors of roast beef and sweet fruit. A bit of rough tannin on the end. More soup than wine. |

2/21/2020 - Thellie wrote: 94 pointsDelicious from beginning to end. Great balance and unctuous texture. Nose promised complex dark fruits and followed through a gorgeous mid palate to a long finish. Because of the vintage, the winemaker chose extra new oak and a long elevage, but in this case at least it paid off. Some have said that 2008 was overrated or stubborn in Oregon, and I’ve agreed, but this is special, delicious wine. |
