Opened the bottle at 5pm and had a taste, not sure how to describe - I will use a word that has been used before - funk. Was worried we got a bad bottle...Arrived at the Restaurant at 6:40 and had another taste. It just was not enjoyable....again...funk. I will be the first to say myself and my family are no where near as knowledgeable as many people on CT...hence had two people we trust at the Restaurant taste it. They both agreed it was not a defective bottle, but just not coming together, needs more time. At about 7:30 we poured and I was shocked that it went from funk to good - not SS good of course...blackberry / smoke / very soft mouth feel - the finish was weak. I hope all reading have a better experience. Cheers! |

5/1/2011 - OBrien wrote: NROpened and was worried at first - very tight / tart / hot. After decanting 1.5 hours it finally started to be enjoyable. Black cherry / dark fruits - concentrated taste with very powerful acids/tannins. I agree with others - OK/Good. |

Sat down to dinner and decanted at 7:30 beautiful smells of leather and berry - amazing dark color. Very well balanced. Of course will need a few years to reach the peak but a very nice wine to enjoy. Cheers. |
