It even became a bit sweeter. And the nose was very fresh and floral. Good legs. Rich. A tad acidic. But very refreshing. Long finish. Not as obvious or strong a lychee aftertaste as compared to the Alsatian ones I've tried. But good nonetheless. I could be wrong, but it certainly tasted as if there was copious amounts of alchohol in this one. |

8/16/2005 - Kiat wrote: 70 pointsWell, it was a very pale rose. I thought it was still harsh. Not much fruits. Very acidic. I must confess that I'm not much a rose or white drinker. But even then, I was not impressed. I poured the remainder down the kitchen sink. |

9/10/2004 - Kiat wrote: 90 pointsReally impressed with this wine. I don't know if its because of the small bottle but it has certainly evolved a bit further than I expected. It drank beautifully. And the tannins were soft. The nose was quite floral. I was a little surprised that it was so full bodied. But loads of black fruits. Definitely worth getting another bottle for home drinking. |

Dry yet fruity. Exuberant yet subtle. Very elegant. But watch the alcohol. Very good legs. Definitely must try to buy again! |

4/17/2004 - Kiat wrote: 90 pointsFrankly, I was very pleasantly surprised because it was marketed under the Marks & Spencer's house brand. It was actually marketed under the name "Basicilica Cafaggio". Of course, the writeup indicated that this was done for M&S by Villa Cafaggio. Be warned that the cork is already a bit stiff. I had slight problems extricating my corkscrew. |

4/10/2004 - Kiat wrote: 85 pointsI must confess that I had never heard of this Chateau before. I was however persuaded by the chaps at Ponti. And the notes on the bottle intrigued me. I believe the narration was that the owners of the Chateau had some connection with Chateau Angelus. Pardon my imprecison but I know next to nothing insofar as French is concerned. |

10/1/2003 - Kiat wrote: 88 pointsDeep plum colour. Nose - hints of tobacco (probably from toasty oak) and some fruit. Well balanced medium bodied drink. Opens up and offers slightly different layers as it breathes. First the spice and then eventually the fruits. Easy drinking. Companion commented that it was a very masculine sort of wine. Patience is rewarded. It is probably my first serious Bordeaux. Always memorable. |

1/1/2004 - Kiat wrote: 93 pointsDeep rich colours. Loads of fruit without being too forward. Sweet tannins without being too overpowering. Elegant and succulent. Smooth smooth drink. Long finish. All round one of the best I've tasted on a limited budget. Of course, this was a gift from a grateful but kind client. |

3/13/2004 - Kiat wrote: 92 pointsBeautiful intense colours. Nose of sweet fruits - starts off with fresh strawberries, but as it breathes it starts to reveal slightly more jammy accents on the fruits. Smooth and elegant. Starts off by being pretty full-bodied and slightly powerful but after some airing it turns out to be well-balanced with moderate tannins. Long smooth finish. The word elegant comes to mind. Definitely worth getting another bottle. |
