1/21/2024 - neurovino Likes this wine: 94 pointstasted immediately and then let it sit in the bottle uncorked for 90 minutes. I did not get any vegetable flavor, and normally I don't like the green pepper or similar in cabernet. Tasted like merlot>cabernet sauvignon with the merlot lushness and a little less tannic cabernet. This wine always seems to deliver for me. |

8/23/2023 - neurovino Likes this wine: 91 pointsBold. Dark. Very tannic with a bit of bitterness. Like a big cabernet, but less sweet fruit. Went very well with grilled T-bone. My favorite Sagrantino. |

1/11/2023 - neurovino Likes this wine: 92 pointsExperimenting with tasting assistant: The wine looks purple colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, strawberry, black currant (cassis), oak and vanilla. It tastes like black currant (cassis), red currant, strawberry jam, plum, oak, butterscotch and alcohol/hot. The body is full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity. |

8/1/2022 - neurovino wrote: flawedVery disappointed in this bottle that was oxidized. It was stored in cooler the entire time I owned it. There was some evidence seepage on the cork making be wondered if it might have been cooked prior to arrival, but that was only discovered once the cork cover was removed. It was shipped in early May 2014, so not sure it was hot enough to cook, but who knows. |

5/29/2022 - neurovino Likes this wine: 90 pointsA bit tart. This didn't improve with air, bit the tartness did diminish a little as the temp. rose, resulting in a rounder, more balanced wine. 90 is the rating at its optimal point. |

9/15/2021 - neurovino wrote: 88 pointsNot a bad wine, but nothing special, and not the bold, rich flavors I have come to know with Luna. This is more a food wine, that is pleasant on the palate, but won't interfere with the flavors of the meal. I'm not sure it will enhance them either. Generally unremarkable. This is coming from someone who tends to enjoy standalone reds from CA and WA. |

7/9/2021 - neurovino Likes this wine: 90 pointsDefinitely a modern style with higher alcohol and little restraint. Fair for the price. Interesting to taste a modern style Tuscan wine that seems more like CA than Italy. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

9/17/2019 - neurovino Does not like this wine: 83 pointsThe initial flavor is mild and pleasant, but the finish comes after 2-3 seconds and it's a bit foul and barnyard, in the way of a bad french wine, not a good one. Disappointing. |

9/17/2018 - neurovino wrote: 85 pointsHow do you make a wine with so little tannins, and one that loses them in the bottle at this rate? Weird, and sadly not very good any more. It wasn't great before. Now reminds me of very sweet tomato juice without the tang. Sad. |
