Out of bottle, a little tight, but opens at midpalate with a longish and perfect finish. Plenty of aging potential. I note that the cork was dry and crubly at the top but in fine condition 1/3 down with no apparent ill effect. |

The nose is huge, with elements of strawberry and cloves as well as a strong cedar overlay. It is big and bold, as one would expect, but perfectly smooth, well integrated and finely structured with moderate tannin and a long finish. There's no reason not to drink this now except, of course, that it's probably going to get better! |

Flavor is classic steely Chablis, flinty but very smooth. A trace of acidity, like the nose, but not enough to create any citric impression, just adds balance. A bit to my surprise this was vibrant enough to match well with ripe camambert. |
