I just don't understand these super thin, acidic fruit bombs. Besides cheap Beaujolais, some wines from Rhone and zweigelt no other varietal makes me think of green tomato stems like Dolchetto does. I just don't like these flavors at all. Sorry, maybe one day I see the light in these thin uninspiring wines - I really hope so! |

From the first "sniff" in the glass - this wine was all about raising eyebrows, focus and attention. While the nose of this wine clearly screams Baroloooo, there is still a weird twist to the nose, that I still can't explain. A twist which makes this wine stand out BIG TIME! A much darker fruit-profile compared to other Barolos - both on the nose and on the palate. Throw in a bunch of flowers, a pinch of vanilla and sweet pibe-tobacco - Wow, wow, wow!.... |
